Precisely! You do know thats because a lot of them already had Prem ready teams?
It wouldn't be £20 million upfront though would it. Like all deals it would be structured based on various metrics. They obviously dont. And you're not going to get profits unless they are playing champions league. His value may go up, but it's not guaranteed and £20m is excessively high for a keeper with no PL experience, going to to a newly promoted team.
At the the end of the day the club will only pay what they are willing pay, regardless of we say.Lets not bother then!
And that's fine. We will have a view on what we are willing to pay, it thay is under £20m but Brighton wants £20m then he will go to someone else.If he’s available for £20m and we don’t pay it somebody else will
Nope! Wont make profit and will leave on a free after 2 ACL'sIf he’s available for £20m and we don’t pay it somebody else will
You say you're an English goalkeeper thesedays and they'll throw you into jailHow many starting ENGLISH keepers do?
Man City paid £31m for TraffordThey obviously dont. And you're not going to get profits unless they are playing champions league. His value may go up, but it's not guaranteed and £20m is excessively high for a keeper with no PL experience, going to to a newly promoted team.
No it was when Hussey played a game on the left-wing.Wasn't it Ryan Haynes?
crucially how many of the other 8 teams were newly promoted? We'll spend more than 50m - or we'll end up with single figure ppointsOnly 12 clubs had a net spend of over £50m last summer. Wages need to be paid on top, previous losses covered £20m in the last financial year, probably the same this season, ground updates etc etc. I just can't see it being a lot more. I think we all want financial security for the club in the future...
I think most people are talking about total spend not net. And our sales won’t be more than 20m tops.Only 12 clubs had a net spend of over £50m last summer. We're a selling club at the end of the day always have been but I don't think Bidwell and Jamie Allen will make much of a dent. They might contemplate selling a Haji or a Rudi to reinvest if we got substantial offers. Cash for players has to come from somewhere.I think most people are talking about total spend not net. Bidwell and Allen will go on frees… No way we sell Rudi. Haji if he wants to, because of the contract. More talking about the squad players knocking around that could fetch fees around 4-5m that we could raise some money from. We're a selling club at the end of the day always have been but I don't think Bidwell and Jamie Allen will make much of a dent. I'm sure they wouldn't want to sell Rudi. We'll need the squad players, probably the vast majority of them. Simms will likely leave for playing time if he has any ambition. I've said it before but we need to strengthen the spine, Keeper, CB, Onyeka and a Striker or two with a starting left back in the mix. I think that will be the priority. I think if we take the £8m for Onyeka as a marker that's the sort of ball park fee we'll be wanting to pay for players (more for a striker perhaps.) Anything above would need a seperate business case.Bidwell and Allen will go on frees… No way we sell Rudi. Haji if he wants to, because of the contract. He wasnt an upper championship player, he was a Premier league player.Onyeka cost £7-8m and was an upper championship player considering those were the teams in for him. And less than that is solid Championship money, Sheaf was £6m for example. PL players will cost £10m minimum really unless you’re finding a free or a bargain.
Here’s some of the recent promoted clubs transfers not a huge amount below €10m

Agree with you but don't think we can compare with parachute sides who've bounced back up a few times in recent years. I imagine we'll be signing 3/4 players for over €20m each plus a couple of frees/cheaper punts from abroad.Onyeka cost £7-8m and was an upper championship player considering those were the teams in for him. I think even if we signed Rushworth we would need an experienced older keeper
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAWe already have one, Wilson.
Can’t believe people are turning their nose up, anything below £20m id snap Brighton’s hand off.
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA
