Surely nobody wants us to actually lose?

If it was a case of we have to play our strongest XI then fair enough, be we know that won't be the case. Surely everybody would want our 2nd string to progress as far as possible?

For me, the day we started to feel like a proper football club again

Feels like a lifetime ago- Mark Hughes as manager, Peter Crouch coming on, Nick Hancock in the stands.

Even at the time I remember thinking I would still rather be us than them- and what a shit 8 years they have had.

It is still up there as one of the worst performances I have ever seen a Premier League side put in

They were disgracefully bad that day and the players had clearly downed tools on Hughes

I can actually see the argument for playing Woolf and Kitching together in this. Also think any of our new signings should be given starts.

Reckon the team looks like this on Saturday:

Wilson
KKH
Wolfenden
Lati
Brau (if Bidwell going to Pompey and is left out)
Allen
Grimes
Esse
Eccles
YMK
Haji

That's a pretty strong side and optimistic about winning now tbh. My enthusiasm for this game has gone up significantly now we've got 2 signings in early doors. Will there be any more surprises?

Beat Stoke, get a glorious tie in 4th round and go out on our shields.

What a difference a bit more depth makes eh

The forecasts as we get closer to Friday certainly would suggest the game being at high risk. If it is the 20th instead I would even more inclined to put the kids out given it will be between 2 league games

Yeah forecast for heavy snow Thursday night Friday.

I don’t want Grimes in the squad let alone the team

I've been saying it all season, there were games we won where for a moment, it looked like we'd run of ideas. "Obsessing" over wingers had made me the butt of the jokes amongst my mates until results turned a bit.

KKH and Brau could end up being good players (more KKH tbh), but they're not sufficient wingers for when you need to change a game.

Me neither but he is the only player in the squad to play in every game so far.

I wouldn't mind if Rudoni plays, Eccles at CM but Grimes will almost definitely play a part. He's the captain, he's durable and frankly, less likely to get injured than Eccles or Rudoni atm.

Haven't heard anything whether KKH is injured or not. Any news? Good if he was available for Saturday.

Wilson
KKH* Lati Woolf Bidwell
Eccles Shepherd Andrews
Siddall Toluwaloju Brau

Varney
Perry
Mantle
Critchlow-Woyo
Batanwi
James
Betjemann
Stidder
Ambursley

I've no idea about the injury status of the U21's so I'm just assuming they would all be available.

I'm assuming Allen isn't going to be available, and that KKH will be.

I would only play the likes of Eccles for an hour tops, and I would be tempted with leaving him out too and playing one of James or Betjemann

Then there's potentially the likes of Dausch, Moore, Yearn etc. who might be returning from loan periods.

If BTA is close enough to coming back maybe give him a half to get some minutes in his legs.
Add in YMH and Esse instead of Siddall and Toluwaloju

I totally agree. Our key player and we will be totally fucked if he gets injured. His last 3 games have been his poorest , giving the ball away a few times which he never does (in all the games he's still been one of our best players such is the standard he sets). He has played nearly every minute of every game even EFL cup so I'd give him total rest and give George Shepherd and Kai Andrew's some mins with Allen if hes back

Do we want to win? 🤔

If we do we put Esse in the side. If we want to lose we give him an extra week of settling in.
