Sure but teams in the Premier League who are fighting relegation, always seem to throw the cup as well. It seems a lot of teams at both ends of the table don't take it seriously. It annoys me, always has. There is some kind of rule about how many players you can change from the previous fixture I think?

It is a shame the way the cups been devalued, but given it has, and given our current position, I hope we play the 2nd string tomorrow (or whenever it takes place).

I expect Stoke to do similar so we may still go through.

I want us to win, I enjoy a cup run. It’s great for the players, club and fans. It helps built momentum and creates a buzz as we get to the latter rounds.

With the two signings so far, plus two more rumoured we have a big enough squad.

Appreciate we desperately need to rest a few, but we’re still strong enough. I’d go:

Wilson
KKH Lati Wolf Brau
Andrews Eccles
Rudoni (for at least 45 minutes)
Esse Wright YMH

20 league games left.

That's the only thing we should focus on between now and May.

We don't need additional cup ties.

not going to stoke to hope we lose but would equally be disappointed if we don't heavily rotate and give 60-90 minutes to wilson, shepherd, perry, andrews etc.

if we win i hope we still rotate heavily regardless of who we get in the next round even if it is a glamour tie. yes we have in a couple more players but we are not like other clubs that can put out two virtually first team squads

Reserves and players that need minutes to find form will do, Stoke will almost certainly be playing the kids too. Neither of us really need extra games and Robins is very pragmatic.

4th round scheduled to be the same weekend we are due to play Boro on the Monday night. I never want us to loose a match, but I don't like the idea of having to play such an important game sandwiched between 2 other fixtures

I have a feeling it’s written in the stars that either City or Boro will get through in the cup, which means the league match gets postponed. It’s then rescheduled later in the season and turns into a real “winner-takes-all” game when it comes to promotion.

I would think in that scenario the Cup game would be moved to a Friday as I assume the Monday game is televised

Really don’t think Shepherd and Perry will be anywhere near starting. Late sub maybe

I do think rest is important, but getting that winning feeling back would be important too.

Wilson
KKH Woolf Kitching Brau
Allen Eccles
Andrews
Esse Wright YMH

That team rests the key men but still gives us a good chance of winning IMO.

Probably not, but could we ask for the game not to be moved and we just play no. First team players on the Saturday?

Cant see is not resting Haji. When you consider internationals he’s played more minutes than everyone who isn’t a GK/defender or Grimes.

I’m assuming he’ll start Simms v Ipswich though. So not really any need to rest Haji.

Don’t think it’s about the Ipswich or even Leicester game. More the end of the season and how many minutes he’ll have played. I expect Simms to start this. We’ve got three games in a. Week after the cup both will get plenty of minutes across those.

Id like to see Perry, Andrews start and at some point Sheppard to get minutes.

Rushworth, Grimes, Kitching, Tatsu, BTA, Torp, EMC, Milan and obviously Thomas can stay at home. Feet up resting knowing its a big 20 games coming up and we need them all fit and mentally strong.

Maybe. I guess also thinking it might be easier for Wright to nick a goal against a potentially rotated Stoke defence. And less pressure than Leicester. Feel like if he could break his drought it would do a lot for his confidence.

Only Milan and Grimes need a rest. The others haven't played many full games, consecutively, for ages.
The rest that don't start will be on the bench unless carrying knocks.

Its not throwing, its giving our players a rest.
Like I said rotation is fine. Saying okay the kids is different though. We can rotate with minimal use of youth set up

Wilson
Bidwell or brau
Lati
Perry
KKH(if not fit then Woolf in at CB and lati RB. Hardly played dmany games has he)
Allen (if he is ready?
Eccles
Rudoni(needs games)
Yang
Esse
Simms

Andrews for Allen etc is fine by me

But I can't see more than 2-3 youth players in max

Why would people assume Frank would jeopardise the two loanees - Who have been brought in to help push us over the promotion line, not enable some sort of cup run.
And have both parent clubs instructed non cup participation anyway?

By “non cup participation”, do you mean that their clubs wouldn’t want them playing in a cup competition? Why on earth would their parent clubs not want them to play? Surely the point of the loans is to get them playing more football.

They're here until the end of the season so it would be pointless, they can't be recalled

If their parent clubs felt that strongly about it, they wouldn’t have approved the deals so quickly.

More importantly, we also need to integrate the players into the team so why not throw them into a low importance game?

People are being ridiculous about this cup game. Stoke aren't sending out a squad of hitmen to decimate us ffs.

It will be good for Esse and YMH to make their debuts there, get some mins under the belt, start to build playing relationships.

Leicester at home on the 17th is going to be a massive game really with a potentially nervous home crowd. Not the best place to make a debut.
