I would just appeal to everyone who says they won't go to at least now wait and see what the club offer in terms of ST and ticket prices before making a final decision.

I don't think I will be going, but am happy to wait to see what concessions the club offer first before coming to a final conclusion.

Efl have said that there has been a 1 million bond provided by the club to ensure we return to the city. As well as legal guarantees it can't be permanent
What? So we will return to the city & collect £1m as long as we promise in a legally binding statement to leave again? Am I following you?

It pretty much was anyway?
Not where I was sitting !

I think it's the least the club could do, even if it's only for one season !

Perhaps I’m clinging to false hopes but I still think despite today’s news playing at Ricoh is possible. The reason, money. Playing elsewhere will cost both Wasps and sisu a lot of dosh something either party doesn’t have a lot of.
In the Wasp case they have no Europe next season, a big loss, think they have only eleven league games plus perhaps cup matches. the loss of the football revenue will I believe have a big effect on them.

Then take sisu don’t know what the St Andrews rent could be but I suspect it will quiet a bit higher than what they paid last year plus perhaps extra cost for police, stewards, the loss of other Ricoh income such as Casino etc and of course the biggest net loss, gates, losing half about 5000 is a possible loss of over £100k a game, wiping out any Callum Wilson windfall, that’s if there is one. And if reports are true they have to put up a million quid bond.
They have had to submit definite plans this week to the EFL as to where they intend to play officially or else basically which is perhaps why this St Andrews plan has been released, perhaps clutching at straws but there’s still two months before the big kick-off and I’m waiting with interest to see what the ST plans are, hopefully theres more to come yet on this.

Talking complete bolox here but just thinking aloud. Now a couple of years ago their was talk of Cov being part of Birmingham. A billion times to one but surely not the 'labour' councils have planned this to happen. It's ok i'm taking my tablets now and going for a lie down :)

Joint statement on CCFC announcement

Joint statement from Cllr George Duggins, Leader of Coventry City Council and Cllr Gary Ridley, Leader of the Opposition Conservative Group, Coventry City Council:

“We share the bitter disappointment of Coventry City fans with today’s announcement by the football club.

“The Council like everyone was hopeful that April’s Supreme Court judgment could lead to a license extension.

“While Coventry City Council has not been party to the negotiations, we understand the endless litigation in its various forms by the football club’s owners remained the barrier for a deal to be agreed.

“It is extremely disappointing that after six years of legal action – that has been tested numerous times in the courts and has been comprehensively dismissed every time – cannot now be dropped to secure the club’s future.

“We urge the football club’s owners to address this situation promptly to ensure the return of the football club to the city at the earliest possible date.”
Not privy to negotiations but our mates wasps told us they are good and u are bad.

Birmingham City fan here. Sorry to see what’s going on with Coventry at the moment, I’ve always had a soft spot for Coventry, just a club I’ve always wanted to see back in the prem or at least championship. When I first starting watching football as a kid in the 90s seeing Coventry in the premier league, class players like McAllister, Breen, Hadji, Robbie Keane, Peter Ndlovu (Maybe not class but a decent player, very exciting to watch, who we ended up signing from you) - but my overall favourite Coventry player to watch was Huckerby, always found him to be a bit of an under rated player in football imo he was a real top quality player.
I’ll be watching highlights from you’re games next season will be especially interesting to see the ones with you playing at St Andrews, I’m hoping we can both have good seasons, I hope you all come down and feel welcome at St. Andrews, all the best for the season :emoji_thumbsup:

Cheers for that.

I have always had a soft spot for Birmingham too. That is based on my old boss, Jeff, who was a great bloke and a really mad Blues fan. Do you know him?

I also liked Trevor Francis as a player and once won Bob Latchford's shirt in a competition

We always obviously support Birmingham in any match against the Villa too.

Morning after the night before and still feel very conflicted on this. It does feel different to Northampton so probably will go to games but a season ticket is more than likely a no.

Would like the club to release info on prices, travel plans e.t.c ASAP now so people can plan for next season. Birmingham isn’t miles away but a pain mid week and if we’re playing sundays could clash with kids football.

I won’t be going.*

*unless we are doing really well in the league, or we draw a big team in the Cup, or we go on an impressive cup run, or we get the play offs.

Not sure how people can be “principled” on this one. I understand those that were over Northampton, but this situation is different. Not going hurts the club, but plays into the hands of the other two guilty parties. One of whom isn’t from the city and the other is supposed to represent it. This time we know it isn’t all on the owners.

If the stance of some last time was against our owners for the Northampton move, then surely that stance will have been maintained and those people haven’t been to a home game since we’ve been back. Therefore why the outrage over home games in Birmingham?

I appreciate some may not be able to go due to logistics and finances (pending what the club offers), but the blind outrage at one party by the the majority of fans (social media etc) over a move that in this instance was not solely the clubs fault, is frustrating.

It’s also a chance for SISU to put their money where their mouth is. They’ve stated they want to support the club, it’s fans and see us progress. Now more then ever is a chance to prove that.

If so, I’d expect to see them continue to back MR, provide discounted ST’s and offer modes of transport to from Cov/New Street etc.

I Agee Otis. We will never know the truth. You are right. However it’s very strange that a big city/one city club like Coventry with a far bigger following than Wasps have been totally disregarded by the council. Yes Sisu have made many mistakes. Just can’t help feeling that our council have fu***ed us over. A successful ccfc would bring far more income to our city.
I read that according to Cardiff University, when Swansea were promoted to the Premier League, in the first season it was worth £60m or so to the local economy...
I don't get why the council isn't helping the football club if these number are anywhere near accurate...

They’ve put their chips on black(and yellow) and are sticking with it through hell and high water!in a vain effort to prove themselves right.
Shame on the people elected to represent the city.

For many supporters going to St Andrew's will make little difference in time or distance. Just as quick for those like me living in the Stratford area... M40, M42, A45. About 40 minutes drive, the same as going to the Ricoh. On the train from Warick or Stratford, 20 mins to 40 mins. St Andrew's offers many possibilities in the short term.

But then many don't drive and Sundays could be a problem for many, if indeed it was to be Sundays.

Personally, Sundays would suit me better if I did decide to go.

The fixture list is going to be interesting.

Key questions now are knowing the stadium. Where the sun shines in your eyes, best route for quick exit, best queue for a pint, where will the nutters sit? What is the view like? It's taken me years to get my season ticket just right.

Unfortunately I think it’s more likely to be sunday. I doubt WMP are going to want us and Villa knocking around Birmingham on the same day. Villa being back in the Orem means they might play a lot of Sunday/Monday/Friday games though.

If as people say we only have 3/4000 fans would that be any different to Walsall playing on the same day as villa. Hoping for Saturdays but Sundays are ok and Otis might be able to go on a sunday.

I cannot decide who I hate the most. My current league table stands as:

1 SISU
2 Council
3 Wasps
4 Anne Lucas
5 Tim Fisher
6 Sunderland
7 Leicester
8 Villa

But it’s a tight title race where Wasps have the momentum to be crowned champs...... the fucking wankers.....
