He could go off with ricketts though couldn't he.

Ended up throwing one straight out of play, which was disappointing, but other than that, thought he looked more comfortable today

yeah that was bad, he has confidence in what he does, Burge always looks nervous.

Obviously been told by Mogga to slow it down at restarts, which is a shame, because his fast distribution is stand out.

Might be more down to them closing down his options every time

It is.

It's also why I wouldn't write Burge off just yet though, if (if) he can get a handle on that.

Problem is, it's harder to hide when a keeper, and you have to seem confident even when not.

We shall see.

I've certainly not written Burge off just yet. Shame we're not still in the cups such as the JPT, cause he could then get game time there. He's still young and Oggy seemingly rates him.

Again, I'd reckon confidence comes into that too, that it's possible he can look good in training, but be overwhelmed come match day.

Not the only one too, Haynes seems to suffer with nerves and let it affect his performances.

Haynes when he first came in looked like a breath of fresh air. Now he seems to be scared of his own shadow.

Difficult to comment on him today on the lad as he didn't have a save to make. But still was very shaky and very nervous with his collection/ distribution. Most the errors in first half were of his own making which the opposition fed off.

Which errors? The ones I saw were really dodgy back passes that put him in trouble so he had to kick it straight out

I remember a 19 year old Les Sealey coming into the side and apart from being a very good keeper from the off wasn't afraid to barate any defender he felt needed it, helped make him the great keeper he was, RCC needs to learn that I feel.

Sealey was a great player and a great talent when he came through. Was weak on near post corners at the beginning and sometimes weak on crosses. All players have weaknesses even the great ones.
people are too keen to have a go at RCC and Burge in my opinion.

...once he'd stopped throwing up on the pitch!

Haynes looked good in front of non existent crowds at Northampton - it all adds up to nerves affecting him.

Really? Same could be said of Maddison/Armstrong,Kent,Murphy etc. They seem to be able to play in front of crowds. Lets stop trying to make excuses for shit players!

Do the above show signs of nerves affecting them during their career? The evidence, in fact, is that Murphy has more spirit than many as he seems to respond to criticism and buck his ideas up. He, in particular, seems to thrive in a more pressured environment.

I meant that Haynes is a shit player. The others can perform in the environment where's Haynes can't perform in any.

He caught a fair few on Saturday and they were football's, so I think your information is inaccurate and you are misinformed.

He's also 6 ft 1.

The shot Vale had that hit the post was a save by RCC wasn't it? By the look of the replay he touched it into the post.

Good save then if so, but I thought he didn't get his fingers to it.

I would love reece to do well, but at the moment he is struggling .Reece is too short, hesitant and nervous. All goalkeepers should play basketball,it develops fast hands, feet jumping and mind.Fast basket ball distribution practice would benefit any goalkeeper.Especially, if they used a football size basket ball. Why do our coaches not think outside the box .Football goalkeeping is not just about shot stopping USA has a very low standard of soccer leagues but produces a lot of international standard keepers. How ?. Basketball culture

The ball seems to change direction, could be the bounce

Yep, the highlights show the same, it was a slight touch. However, not to deny the lad a good save, but his touch really didn't affect the ball's direction - the shot was hitting the post with or without his touch, imo.
