Pretty much, though I'd let some of them play on Saturday first.

Possibly Baka. Out of contract at end of season (although a bit bare bones on strikers right now).

I think it's highly probable that Robins is actively looking for another striker. But, given that strikers come at a premium and a lot of clubs will be all fishing from the same pool, it'll be nothing short of difficult to bring one in. It won't be made easier by the fact that our budget is likely to be minimal, especially if James is to come in. Plus on top of that we'll be at the maximum number of loans permitted in a match day 18 unless of course one of McCallum or Giles returns to their parent club.

Hopefully he can pull a rabbit out of his hat.

I completely get how difficult it is and I don't envy him at all in that respect. It's a case where I think in all honesty you'd have to go to Seppalla with a begging bowl because the chances of finding a half decent striker for minimal cost in this climate are negligible.

What an amazing way of spending your life, pretending things are racist online so people correct you. Do you also enjoy hailing busses only to not get on them, pressing all the buttons on an elevator only to get off on the first floor and vigorously pumping loads into your blow up doll?

I'm not sure why you've quoted me as saying Robins failed with JCH. I never actually said that. Granted, I think he could've been more fluid in his approach in tailoring the system to JCH but I never said he failed him. That's an entirely different topic regardless. I recommend you read on in the thread to find out my stance on the JCH situation.

Again why are you misquoting me?

My point was, it's a myth that Robins is able to get the best out of difficult players, I've never said he failed with players. The notion that he's a miracle worker with difficult players is utter garbage though and there's little evidence to prove otherwise. I welcome you to try. For starers, we've had very few difficult players for him to deal with. I suspect Robins makes a habit out of avoiding such players as in previous conversations I've had with him he's openly discussed how his ideal players are those who listen attentively in training, work for the team and essentially are able to do as they're told without causing a fuss. Those who don't fit this bill and have had issues with their attitude/commitment have been frozen out and swiftly moved on. Hiwula, Brown and Nazon are prime examples of this.

The only example of a difficult player he got the best out of was Bright, and as I've said previously that's probably down to the fact that he let him do as he pleased whilst here on loan. If Bright had stayed on permanently he would've undoubtably been held to a much higher standard - which would've inevitably swiftly spelt the end of Bright's career at the club.

You said;
It's bizarre that people continue to push this myth. It's entirely false. For all of his virtues Robins lacks the ability to able to manage the more 'difficult' players long term.

I would have assumed a lack of ability to manage a player is actually failing with them? Surely the implied meaning in your comments is that it should be possible to manage difficult players, to make them successful in your team. If, as you say, Robins is not capable of doing this then isn’t he failing?
Not being on the inside, it’s difficult to know about player’s attitude. I would say that Hiwula and Browne, like JCH simply didn’t come up to the standard of performance required, rather than being difficult. I noticed that when Hiwula was brought off after missing the penalty at MK Robins gave him a hug, as if to say ‘Don’t worry about it’. I think this is more an indication that with Hiwula, confidence rather than attitude was the problem, although MR was caustic in his comments about Hiwula’s supposed injuries a few games later. With regard to Nazon, I think we had a good half season out of him. His departure seemed to be more his decision than the club’s.
Apart from possibly JCH, the only player with a possible suspect attitude was Bright, who arguably played the best football of his career under Robins. It’s purely supposition that if he had signed permanently then Robins would have had problems with him. Certainly an attempt was made to sign him that summer which suggests MR wasn’t too worried about handling him.

I think his original point had truth in it, and then you’ve said ‘not everything is racist’ and got a bit angry about something which you more than likely don’t appreciate the nuances of. 5 black players all called ‘difficult’. True for a couple of them, but not the others. His response, which is a bit tongue-in-cheek, points that out.

I'm not angry at all, I'd also like you to explain the nuances I've missed. It's obviously more than a lot of people unfairly criticise black players as being difficult because if it was he's have picked out a list that had perhaps not easily been shown to have been difficult. Then the fishing meme as opposed to being a tongue in cheek response showing someone to have missed the point is well known internet slang for 'I was only taking the piss and you fell for it'

I liked Davies - particularly good game against Stoke in the Cup. But he is League 1 level and so had to go. But it was perfomance rather than attitude that was the issue surely. He put up with being in and out of the team

I liked watching Davies because it was like being back in the 90s. No nonsense player who just kicked and headed and threw himself at everything. He'd have been a disaster in our team last year though.

Absolutely. Defence is fine - probably one of the tightest in the Championship now they are all present and correct. It's goals we need badly. The two at Millwall both came off defenders. We need someone who will unsettle a good Championship defence enough to create chances., Who is Bobby Gould playing for these days?

Well the nuances are that black players are labelled negatively in ways white players aren’t, and ‘difficult’ is one. Was Junior Brown difficult, was Hiwula difficult? Not that I heard, and I don’t think there’s any solid evidence of that.
I’m not saying the post was racist, or that the poster had any such intentions, but the point made highlighted that it was all black players, and i thought it was interesting whilst also being a tongue-in-cheek post.
I’ve been guilty of it loads in the past, calling black players ‘beasts’, meant in a positive manner, but then I wouldn’t say the same thing about a white player. I’d call a black player lazy quicker than I’d say a white player was lazy.
It’s subtle and nuanced but it exists.

I thought Junior Brown was let go because he was 3rd in the pecking order behind McCallum and Mason. He also had a few injuries. Whenever I saw him play he seemed to give his best, at least on the pitch. If he was disgruntled for not getting a game that's surely fair enough given the fact he was at the peak age of his career. He then agreed to go on loan to get game time.

Limited budget means you can have players who can make a difference or 'cover' - but not both.

In this context what 'cover' actually means is an indulgent expenditure on a player we don't really need. Pask is 'cover'. If the new player is better than Pask then he is not actually 'cover' at all but a player who should be in the 1st team, in which case you have just spent money on a player you don't need.

On the other hand we need somebody who can score goals or help score them, as any dolt can see by looking at our results of late. And our key midfielder is injured and prone to more injuries.

We all know Robins likes a bevy of centre halfs in the squad, so it may happen, but it will be a waste of budget if it does.

I completely aware of subconscious racism and how black footballers bear the brunt of it. There was none of it in the post about a list of players MR has binned off though.

Just been thinking about the reason James would cease his loan at Barnsley to come to us. I am hoping that it is not part of a deal seeing Hamer move to Leicester!

He was there only until January. If Hamer was ever deemed good enough for Leicester they would just buy him, they don’t have to do favours for the selling club.

It’s far more likelier. Hardly loaned us a player in and around their first team - he’s been on loan to a team in the same division and not one of the bigger ones
