Hardly the same thing as actively offending people is it.

Have a word with yourself if you are comparing going on a school trip to actively offending someones religion.

Well yes David as what is your religion - the absolute ability to talk utter shite every single time you make a post?

Im not offended - but it’s about as credible as the Moonies isn’t really?

Have you ever even scraped enough money for a day trip to London David?

What a boring irrelevant poster you are

Personally I’ve never flagged while shagging. Sorry you’ve suffered that issue. Not surprised though, it would explain a lot.

The only real driver of improved animal welfare is consumer behaviour imho. Obviously there have to be minimum standards but they'll only improve if the market demands that they do. The problem is that many people can't afford to be so discerning.
That said, over the last 20 years free range eggs have gone from being fairly niche to probably dominant in that market, but I suppose that's a relatively low cost item anyway.

Never been convinced in the slightest that vegetarian/veganism is more expensive than consuming meat and dairy, though for sure it's less convenient and harder to make work.

My best mate in Primary’s Mum was on her own and didn’t earn much and their whole family including the dog were vegetarian (maybe vegan but not sure that existed in the 80s) apparently mainly for cost reasons. Meat is always the most expensive single item on my weekly shop TBF.

There are some pretty fancy prices for ready made veggie meals and loads of different kind of vegan mince since it became cool. However when you look at these vegan minces there are no expensive ingredients. Make something trendy and there will always be someone willing to sell you it at a high price. However if you make meals from first principles as we do, it has to be cheaper.

We do buy the mince though, as Quorn seems to have changed the recipe and it's not as good.

I’ve never seen the point of the ignore button but the likes of Obtuse the Tonester and PVA have changed my mind

Frankly they are all as thick as fuck but see google copy and paste as a way to support their intellect and gain some credibility

Obtuse always read the mood room wrong but these two hitch to the view and then seek to gain credibility from constantly copying and pasting inane rubbish

The contribution of these two bozos over the last 48 hours has been beyond absurd. Even when people parody their behaviours to make them see their absurdity they don’t see it.

The only other one I ignore is O Day as he is a delusional fantasist who believes he is amusing but is about as funny as having your leg sawn off without anaesthestic

Aren't you like 60 years old?

Nearly a pensioner and you're sat on the internet making up little e-feuds and blocking people on a forum haha. Fucking pathetic, I feel sorry for you. Genuinely, I pity you.

That's a micro-aggression right there. Shame on you, PVA, you of all people should know how hurtful that can be. You should have at least issued a trigger warning before typing that vile stuff.

Well done, this will get a like from Grendel or maybe even a 'Haha' like. A productive Tuesday for you.

Still a bit bemused as to why me saying that social justice is not something to be mocked has led you to write post, after post, after post filled with buzzwords that have no relevance to me. Whatever floats your boat though.

No. But then not teaching about sexuality isn’t fundamental to Christianity, we have plenty of gay vicars for instance. Not having images of Allah is fundamental to Islam though. Again, if you’re going to compare eggs try comparing them to eggs.

Just to add. I absolutely support their right to protest it though, even though I disagree with them.

How long did all branches of Christianity preach against homosexuality? It was within my lifetime. Remember Section 28? First female vicars too. This is still a massive thing for Catholics. DUP are massively anti-abortion and homosexuality and want it banned and they're Protestant.

It changed because people basically abandoned the church because of views like this and they were forced to change to have even the slightest semblance of relevance in the modern age. The church would've much rather maintained a ban on homosexuality and women priests if they could and if they'd have maintained enough hardcore support to do so would've.

That's how Islam gets away with it - lots of followers refuse or are to afraid too slightly question stuff like this so they can get away with the hardcore. If they could get enough to show dissatisfaction with these archaic doctrines they'd have to make the same choice - get rid of it or become irrelevant.

Things like this It's far more lack of understanding and tolerance for this society than a lack of tolerance of society towards Islam

Don’t know. The type of thing I personally would protest against would be something like greyhound racing. I’d do it at a dog track as a meeting was taking place. They’d be little point doing it outside the local laundrette.

Do you think the right to protest should trump the right to education and the right to a safe working environment?

That’s not why my Christian faith has evolved. It’s because I believe that Jesus showed us the way of love and some of the Christian faith is about power and judgement. These tenents are very difficult to hold together. In fact I think they’re Impossible. I don’t just mean lovey love I mean a love that dies for its friends am considered extremely liberal at my church. I believe on this day of all days that even when I was still far off god met me in his son Jesus and brought me home. Dying and living he declared his love and once I understood that was the same for all creation it changed my desire to go to church for myself. I know how far from perfect I am and my aim is to live life to reflect the man I’ve read about. I fail constantly as you can all attest but the thought that the Christian faith has broadly changed its beliefs through rejection is only part of the story in my experience. Again the vast majority of Muslims are good honourable men and women who want to live good lives blessing their communities and seeing their children succeed and have families that succeed. There are monsters in all religions and none

Literal interpretation of the Bible and Qu’ran is what leads people to do insane things in the belief it’s the word of the almighty. I know that if religion weren’t around there would be other snake oil salesmen but Gervais put it best when he said that atheists ‘don’t have nothing to die for but everything to live for’. Sadly there is no such introspection from all of those who dedicated their energy on getting a young teacher sacked, imprisoned or worse for at worst being naive.

They will live according to the rules that suit them and ignore the parts they don’t like. Which is true of any religious fundamentalist. Hopefully when the media storm blows over the teacher is allowed to resume his job and the school stands their ground

Exactly.

They are there kicking off because somebody non muslim did something against muslim rules.

Then they are likely to go home and break muslim rules themselves.

I saw yesterday more people have been suspended, I can't see the teacher going back to work at that school.

It’s a holding pattern from the headteacher while the press focus is on him. I wouldn’t be shocked if they all came back

He should have had the full backing of the school and his union already.
