Equality or some mad shit like that.

Thread about a murdered woman turns into having a go at feminists. Fucking hell.

He always brings it back to him and how he has been affected.

Nope. Wrong.

Topic about murdered woman escalates into a platform for feminists to spread their man hating bilge. An attempt to counteract that is then shot down, and the offended brigade come out and get on their high horse regarding opinions of (another woman) Davina McCall for saying something that is completely common sense.

If it is equality you want, do you want me to cross a road for a member of the opposite sex or not? Which one is it?

Surely the ultimate goal is for us to not cross the road? But if there’s crying and whinging and pushback at even the slightest hint of self awareness and movement we won’t get anywhere.

Who has been spreading man hating bilge? Offended brigade? Utter drivel yet again from you.

Let me try this one then:

If we are not careful we will end up with one demographic constantly wanting special treatment, and an even more unequal society.

'If we're not careful', we'll end up with women wanting help to not be afraid for their own lives? Seems like pretty reasonable "special treatment" to me. I don't see how that makes our society more unequal than it already is - unless, of course, you're just quite comfortable with the current status quo and don't want it changed.

Why are you even saying that. Are you trying to say I’m against myself? Because I’m not. What’s your point.

I've literally just explained it.

It means you can care about the welfare of both men and women without having to take sides.

If I say not all men are rapists, no that isn't right.
If I say we should cross the street for women, no that isn't right.
If I say we should all take precautions, no that isn't right.

It isn't about my point, it is about what you, and several others on this thread, as well as places like twitter actually want.

No, what you are saying literally makes no sense.

On the one hand you are screaming for equality, but on the other you want one sex to be treated differently. Which is it?

I know this is a proper out there concept in today's world, but shouldn't you take care of your own safety? if you're scared to leave the house after dark then take self defense lessons.

Should self defence even have to exist?

I want us to accept the reality that men and women are treated differently, and change our behaviour to account for that, in the hope it will make things more fair. Does that make sense?

Equality doesn't mean 'treat everyone the same', it means helping people out where it's needed to level things out.

It seems it's out there to take collective responsibility for one another's safety, for sure...

What about the personal responsibility? If you feel scared in a certain situation, surely the onus is on you to learn the skills to deal with those situations.

Looks like I’m learning to become a pilot, and spider handler and a final five minutes of a game when we are 1-0 up specialist then.

What is wrong with making steps that over come your fears?

Equality is more of a goal rather than a rule, you'd logically have to treat some people differently to get them to the point others already are
