Correct, but that’s why I said I’m theory. Football is risky. That’s the most sustainable model out there. The gamble is always gonna be there

It’s possibly why we’ve signed about 6 non league players - the more you sign at little to no cost the more chance you’ve got of getting a gem
Whilst that is true, they were all proven to some extent. Westwood was the clear standout GK in L1 and Dann and Fox were earning rave reviews at Walsall. They were all ready to go into, and massively improve, the team-they weren't just investments in the future to make a profit down the line, they were for the here and now as well.

Difference is we were a championship side with a significantly bigger budget. Take the club’s dwindling income now and you’re just going to have to look at the best of non league

You have seen him play one game? Good to see people judge players so quickly.

People judged him and Kyle before one game. Kyle wasn’t great but wasn’t terrible. He’s just another in a line of non scoring strikers but fans didn’t want him. They don’t want this guy either.

Some didn't want McNulty either, some moaned that Clarke was a freebie too.

Much easier to give them a bit of a chance.

He probably didn’t sign loads of autographs and smile a lot or run around the pitch like a scolded cat the two things that can make you a hero with our fans.
