I didn’t realise his previous stats were actually pretty underwhelming only started playing regularly at 23 not so many goals or assists so he’s been some find !

Yes, it sounds like Saka was signed on the base of 'old fashioned' scouting rather than moneyball stats and a highlights video which people value so highly these days.

He is such a special player, he has everything any fan would want from a player. Love watching him great touch, balance and works as hard than anyone else on the pitch. The coaches must absolutely love working with the likes of him and BTA. Just really honest likeable people that give all for the group.
Said before, he’s pushing Big Dele Adebola for being my favourite player post 2001. Such a likeable character

I had a little smirk when Tats took the feet from under COH and got his booking. Tit for tat (no pun intended) on an earlier challenge in reverse and showed him that he wasn't going to be intimidated. Great player. Love his skill and work ethic

Probably one of my favourite players since i've started supporting.

Had all the earmarks of a cult hero when he first joined Japanese, Winger, Cool name, Random league and that fancy cut back.

Instead he's on his way to becoming a legend. I could see him here for a few years until hes 32/33 and then heading back off to Japan before retiring.

He deserves a crack at the Prem with us. More than good enough to be an impact sub even at that level imo, he's so tricky.

Yeah I bloody love him. Always puts everything in on the pitch, even if he's having an off day and seems to come across as a genuinely nice bloke.
You can see the other players and Lampard love him as well

Such a great player to watch, the way he just skips past players.

Love it when he's 1v1 with a full back and they have no idea whether he really is going to cross it this time or if it's another feint.

I'd love to see him roast a few Prem defenders.

Japanese players don’t normally start their professional careers til they are 22/23. Sakamoto has only played just over 200 professional games, he’s just turned 29 he won’t be slowing down anytime soon.

He certainly deserves a crack at it but you could be a tad premature on 2 counts. 1) We've got to get there3 first and 2) I doubt we'll get the funding to replace all of our better players if we do. I like your thinking though👍
