He's scored a lot of goals in the lower league but I really don't he is that good. He would solve our penalty problem though I'd expect as he has a very good record from the spot.

He's a bit like L Clarke, not very good but just scores goals, i would like to see him sign for us. Scored for Crawley against Fulham yesterday.

Surely doesn't matter too much if they can do 100 step overs and take 6 players on like Ronaldo, they just need to score 15 goals with their arse

Leon Clarke imo is/was a much better than Mcleod.

Mcleod is more in the Cody Mcdonald style of being a good league 2 striker and ok league one striker rather than Clarke who in his time with us was probably one of the best strikers in the division at the time.

Callum Wilson was the best striker in the division, destroyed every team with his pace. Clarke was more of a presence but still a very good player for us. What we'd all give to have those two up front this season hey

Yes Clarke and Wilson were probably 2 of the best 3 strikers alongside Joe Garner that season.

Ah Joe Garner, will not forget pressley telling the press he's a diver before our game against Preston...he then went and won a pen and scored it

You do realise McLeod just scored 20 goals in league one for Crawley yes?

Yes, I do realise that. I also realise that doesn't automatically make him a good footballer and a good signing for us. Don't get me wrong, I'm not arguing with his stats from last season but I'm sceptical as to whether he could replicate that for us.

Him and samuels would be class signings if we can get a good winger or two in

16 in 43 is respectable but its hardly flying is it?

1 goal every 2.7 games, as I say ok L1 striker but not a top striker for this level. That is why he is at Gillingham

From what I've seen of the player, looking at his past clubs and records and the opinion of fans who have watched him regularly and just my gut feeling. Not saying he couldn't do it, but I'm not convinced.

What I'm saying is we'd be better off with a player who can score more than 16 goals if we want to get out of the division.

izale mcleod is more then capable of scoring 20 goals with the right service and if you let him take penalties again an area we lacked last season

Even more admirable that he scored that many playing for a poor team. I think we let him go too soon. Doesn't matter now, as he's gone, but rate him as a goalscorer with a decent work ethic.

I'd take a punt with McLoeod. He has consistently done the business at this level. Give him decent balls and I'm sure he would produce the goods

This isn't happening. TM was asked at Nuneaton about him by a fan, he said that they approached Crawley but they quoted £250k which is out of the clubs budget and too much for a 32 year old who's not that profilic throughout his career according to someone on Facebook.

Who is going to release a 20 goal a season player for nothing. Nobody. We cannot bring in people who are here for their last hoorah. That was borne out last season in spades.

Plastered all over Facebook and Twitter this morning that McLeod is on the verge of signing, I'm sorry it's not more concrete than that but I'm pretty sure this one is more than just a random rumour
