Question for Grendel (6 Viewers)

Do you still think (to use your own words), that JCH is 'light years' ahead of Max?

Assuming you know what a light year is - it's a simple question - Yes or No?

Clearly - if Biamou has started every game we’d be in the low end of the table.

Biamou is a circus act and not a footballer - Hiwula and Bakayoko are light years ahead as well

Thanks for the pretty random question

We’re one goal out of the playoffs. JCH has missed the most sitters. Therefore If today was the last game he would have cost us promotion.

But it wasn't the last game, It's not even an argument, you can't dissect a season in such a way.
If the "goal" last week had been given we would be in the play off position tonight.

At times this season-JCH has pretty much been unplayable. Just brilliant.

Much as I like Max-he’s still just a learning footballer, getting better but no where near the level JCH is at the moment.

Actually Chaplin has not its a relevant point

McNulty and Biamou was the partnership that got us to the play offs and promotion

No - one scored 30 goals and one 5. To suggest mcnulty needed Biamou is silly really. Next you’ll be saying Wham would never have had a hit single without Andrew Ridgely

Its a stupid question who is to say that if Beavon had played instead of Max maybe he would have scored 6 goals or JCH had played maybe he would have had 7 goals!!!!

Biamou is clearly not a circus act he has some ability maybe its not enough for league 1 time will tell but i feel Robins almost has a blank sheet with him and has definitely improved him as he has done with JCH and Hiwula is now looking a lot better so too is Thomas ..

If Biamou is a circus act that reflects really, really badly on Robins, who offered him a three year contract in July.

Any manager who offers a circus act of a player a new three year contract needs sacking.

It's a fucking pathetic answer from someone who cannot fathom that a player improves over time. He made his view clear at the start of last season and is far too invested in his own opinion to consider he may have misjudged it. It's playground stuff.

He often becomes entrenched in a position and is most reluctant/has too much pride to backtrack.

Like you say, Biamou struggled at first, but then became a much improved player.

A new three year contract is quite a statement from Robins, so either Robins is an idiot, or he sees something in him and it as an investment for the future.

None of us know yet whether Biamou can make it at this level or not.

I wonder what JCH shots converted to goals ratio is and average amount of shots per game are compared to Max. I would think that JCH has more shots on goal but Max’s shots converted to goals ratio is higher. That would be my assumption anyway. Aside from that their game play isn’t really that much different and on that basis I’d put them on an equal footing as players. If Max took more shots at goal though I’d think that the likely outcome would be Max is the superior player.

Either way I like both players and I like competition for places in the team and when Max is fit again him and JCH are fighting for the same place, which is a good thing.

Throw Bakayoko into the mix and we have decent options/variety up front.

No!!

If Biamou is a circus act what the hell does that make Bakayoko?

The contract will have been part of a promotion clause

I don’t think I ever mentioned him until November

His record in the league is 5 goals and 3 assists

That's one hell of a contract if so.

Why not a one year extension, or just two years instead of three?

Same for Kelly

But Kelly is a lot more universally regarded as a player than Biamou, who certainly has a lot more dissenters.

Both were still under contract anyway and were hardly going anyway.

I fail to see how a previous orient player is universally regarded but hey ho
