You`re right, but the players must`ve had to " fit in " with the system that Slot wanted, so I`m sure Slot would`ve vetoed anyone he didn`t think would work.

Take Isak for instance, they chased and chased him and where prepared to pay whatever it took to get him.
yeah, he'll tell them what he thinks but Hughes came from Bournemouth where they did overpay for average players and it's a very different job at Liverpool.

Is Slot a good manager? His title team was basically a slightly adjusted Klopp team and when he tries to play more like his previous teams they are shite. I'm all for it and think he must stay.

The death of Jota didn't seem to be an issue when they were unbeaten at the start of the season

Which was initially pointed out by various outlets and then the Jota narrative started to develop and gained traction when things started to go wrong.

Salah having a go at Slot may help change this though, as I`m sure there`ll be some in the press, who`ve been thinking the same thing, but have been reluctant to move away from the death of Jota as an excuse for the team falling apart, for fear of the likely backlash they`d get.

Another problem for Slot, is that Klopp is like Fergie at Man Utd.

Whoever took the job after Klopp was always going to be compared to him.

His presence is still everywhere around the club, hanging around like the ghost of Christmas Past.

Yes that certainly didn't help Moyes with Sir Alex ferguson hanging over his shoulder like Darth Sidious was with Darth Vader.

I still think if given time Moyes could have been successful at United.

Wolves - a complete lack of identity caused by, in my opinion a mish mash of players of different nationalities who look like they’ve never met before yet alone played football together

A Premier League side having ONE English player in their entire match day squad should be ashamed

I would be very worried if I support them, Derby’s record is going to get a run for it’s money

Had a look through some of the signings, just utter dross from random foreign clubs.

Wolves have the same owners as when they were splashing the cash in the championship right?
Bringing in Jota, Ruben Neves etc in the Championship?

What went wrong?
Is it just a case of owners got fedup investing with little return? Got bored?

Thought they may have built some credit with the fans from where they came from- but hearing their fans tonight it seems otherwise

They lost interest, and it seems to be a recurring theme with Chinese owners - They come in, splash a bit of cash initially then get bored and leave it to rot

Same happened at Villa when that lunatic Dr Xia took over and at Blues with the mob they have just got rid of

At some point in time it becomes obvious that the level of continued investment needed to even finish in the top 8 is completely unsustainable, so the owners move to just trying to manage with limited net investment.
