I blame it on inexperience and being desperate to get on the ball and make something happen. Like a school kid who knows he’s the best and just runs around trying to get the ball and do it all themself.

He was clearly frustrated after the second goal as. he booted the ball into the net in anger. Partly as he was partially to blame for the unnecessary corner and partly as it was a bad night for him.

Poor game, but definitely still an asset.

He was also having no luck against their RB, not helped that nobody was running beyond him to try and open up the space.

Seemed to lack any attacking threat

There was a lot of panicking and aimless passing when 1-0 up in that second half. I remember one time Kelly got the ball on the left wing in our half and just passed it straight out of play. When they have a long throw specialist, we don't need to be loading their weapon for them.

Realistically I thought we were the slightly better side first half and deserved our lead. But Preston had their moments and were creating a few chances.

Second half became very scrappy by both sides and then Preston kicked on and dominated tge midfield. They scored two very good goals although we were totally asleep for the second.

My preseason concerns about McFadzean's pace is becoming an issue and we need to source a replacement for next season. Likewise Kelly, been a great player for us, but at this level not as dominant.

Dabo and Maatsen need to learn to defend better and become more consistent.

I thought COH was poor last night but played a part in our goal.

Top six will probably be too much for us over the season but top half should be achievable.

I think Robins is in the position of many City managers before him when in top flight. Put a fully fit on form best 11 out and we can match anyone. Get a few injuries or few out of form and there isn't much in the cupboard.

Time to move on to the next game and hopefully a better performance.

Our most attacking midfielders. Hamer has 1 this season and O’Hare for all his good work just isn’t capable of contributing goals. If Gyokeres isn’t on his game for whatever reason there’s little threat

Agree. Without knee jerk reacting, we could struggle squad wise. O hare and Vik can't play every minute of every game and even if they do, they can't sustain their high quality.

Hamer needs to step up and do more. He really does. He doesn't shoot anymore, his corners for all their praise has given us 0 goals, same with his free kicks and set play quality.
O' hare is now scared to shoot so much that he actually runs away from goal when it's there.
Luckily Walker is showing he can provide goals and Godden had a great second half against Fulham but unfort i'm not convinced of his long term championship status.

As I say, no knee jerk reactions but you can see if we get into a sticky patch during winter, there aren't many players who can come in and drag us through. Shipley, no. Jones, seemingly not, Bright, no chance at the moment. Tavares, not ready. Rus, not ready.

For me Waghorn has to step up here as well. And Hamer is getting a really easy ride, he should be grabbing games by the scruff of the neck more. This time last season he was on 5 goals I think.

I haven't read the previous 36 pages of comments, so please excuse me if I'm repeating something others have said.
I thought Preston pressed us higher up the pitch in the second half and nullified both our wing backs. Both Dabo and Maatsen struggled at times.
O'Hare didn't seem to get any protection from the ref and I was worried he was going to be injured. Vik was well marshalled by their defence most of the time, and one of their centre backs seemed quite quick, s through balls into the channel needed to be really accurate......which a lot of the time ...they weren't.
Overall, I'm old enough to know that playing at Preston = 0 points.
Lets hope our team can recover their energy levels for Saturday. PUSB's

Accepting the result - the ref let a lot go in the first half then seems to give them every drop in the second half - Agree Kelly was lucky but OHare must be black and blue again - onwards and Upwards - don’t see why we can’t be in the playoffs

We’ll we’ve all dissected it now. Best reaction is onto Derby on Saturday with a reaction and hopefully take the 3 points.

At least we ain't Baggies fans, with a divine right to always have a winning team. It must be really difficult for them to accept losing.
Lots of them want Val Ishmael out asap, they think it's kick and rush footy from him. How did Barnsley play under him?

They’ll be promoted I’d rather have had their last 15 years than ours

Agree about Hamer , we had fans booing sheaf when his name was called out before the game , I’m not saying sheaf has not made mistakes but I think the five midfielders , Kelly, Hamer, sheaf, ohare and Allen have all have been excellent in games but also underperformed in certain games

the biggest difficulty is working the best partnerships out of this 5

Why has Hamer stopped shooting? He's got from one extreme to the other, he has had sights of goal a few times this season and refuses to have a pop.

That’s a disgrace booing his name. Some of our “fans” should know better than any club what can happen with a toxic feeling around the place, compare that to the superb backing at home games recently being praised by the manager and players.

Which game? I didn't hear anything last night.

Even during the abject second half, the fans were either positive or quiet. I didn't hear any negative stuff at all.

Last night as the Preston PA announced the teams before kick off
Fair enough. I was finishing my overpriced can of Fosters and popped up just in time for the kick off.

I didn't hear any widespread negative stuff all game.

We were one up you don’t change it then. Walker gets the pen and it’s a different game
Bit of a turning point that moment it could have put us 2 up . I was looking right at the ref who was poor for us all game but it looked to me initially he blew for the pen but then seen the linesman flagging and gave the off-side, can’t argue with that but not long after Preston equalised. That’s three games running penalty issues have adversely affected us.

I think overall this season the luck side of the game has run for us,so maybe the God penalty emptied that account and put us into negative status until we had a period of repentance.

By the way did anyone listening on the radio have any problems on Wednesday?
Could get no channels at all through DAB.
The pathetic FM function on my automatic sunlight increasing, bird tweeting alarm clock was giving out pure static like sometimes listening to Luxembourg or Caroline back in the sixties.
I was wondering if a big CME had done what the say is possible ,as I know there's been a fair show of the Northern Lights recently.
