Since the end of September Godden has 1 goal and 0 assists. What exactly is he offering?

Simms has 4 in 35 games.

And Godden scored two in the FA Cup too in a match Simms started. Godden's scoring rate us substantially better than Simms'.

He has that's undeniable but if you think watching the both of them recently Gods is more likely than Simms then I fear for your sanity

No bigger sitter than a penalty
I've been a big supporter of Godden but I was at Ipswich and since then I wouldn't have him anywhere near the starting 11
He can still do a job as a last 20 minutes sub but that's about it

Simms is young enough to improve and get better, Godden is on the decline and only getting worse.
Simms can match the defenders physically where as Godden can't.

Simms has been poor and there is still a time and place for Godden but it's a no brainer for me who should be getting the majority of the minutes
It’s like comparing chalk and cheese. Completely different styles of players.

I would have more faith in Godden in a one on one than Simms. Godden is far less mobile but a natural striker. I’d play him ahead of Simms everytime.

Its impossible for me to praise Simms in any way has he’s been a massive disappointment.

He’s only got himself to blame for the criticism, if he’d worked his socks off and ran himself in to the ground I doubt he would get any criticism as people would respect that. Instead he’s wandered around for most the season. Last game when he came on was an improvement though so long may that continue.

Other than Sunday and that was only a short appearance I haven't seen it. I think Simms so far has contributed very little apart from the goals.

If he hadn't cost so much and come from Everton people wouldn't be obsessed with him playing.

He has scored 2 league goals in my eyes as the Swansea one was a shameless poach.

Anyway, 3-1 win to raise my promotion/FA Cup winners double Cash Out to around £8 I reckon.

Simms away at Preston, second half sub on the right, inspirational for me, defence in the second Sheffield at home come in when we were struggling and cleared the danger from left to right.

Wouldn't bet against a front 3 of Wright, Godden & Simms. Palmer to start at AM. O'Hare (injured or not) & Sakamoto rested.

The one that’s was already going in from wright that he toe poked against Swansea.

The one that Wright poked in against middlesborough he needed to do as a defender could have cleared it.

It is more that his presence means Wright can go on the left, and Simms does provide the long ball knock down option which Godden most definitely does not. Pragmatism really

Simms does the dirty work such as handling opposition Centre backs, winning aerial duels, focal point at the start of attacks in the final third, drives forward well out wide, he has all the physical attributes, there are technical limitations to his game for sure but they can be coached in as he’s only just turned 23. I believe in MR and AV to coach the best out of him, besides I’d fully back him to have a storming season next year when he’s fully settled. He looked amazing in pre season and I think next year he’ll kick on

The last one wasn’t his fault though was it, we appealed because it was so ridiculous. Norwich was for a reckless last man tackle.

Why does that make any difference? Robins isn’t going to further punish a player for being sent off when he’s already been suspended for 2 games. If he leaves Binks in (which he might) then it’s not because he’s punishing Kitching.

No it’s not. As I said in my original post it’s to do with MR rewarding Binks’ good performances, which we’ve seen him do many times in the past.

No O'Hare, no Sheaf and the invisible man up top but I'm still convinced we get something from this.

The difference between the 2 players in this regard is so negligible per 90 . they both work hard , 1 gets praised, 1 gets slated

Either way this argument never stops

1 cost a small fortune the other not alot and scored history defining goals

I think Simms is currently the slightly less bullshit option of the 2, I dunno if that's praise

Either way, we're doing this tonight mate. Can feel it.
