Just a few finishing touches have caused the delay - due to some complaints from fans about it's ordinaryness, a new facade will be fitted:

What the hell has gone so wrong? They only said a couple of weeks back that it would be open in June. Suddenly we have a 3 month delay.

As long as it's open for wasps first game that's all that matters.

We'll the height of Embarrassment
was a feature on BBC Midlands today
A feature about said Station highly laudable
Except for the timing directly after a two minute feature on the fitting out process at New Street, Granite Marble and all

"The next phase will be to provide a bay platform at Coventry Station which will then allow two trains an hour to run between Coventry and Nuneaton, calling at the Ricoh and Bermuda.”

Had to laugh reading that in context of the delay!

Superb news, can't wait.

Seems Wasps Tony has gone into a coma. Perhaps he will wake up in 1950 and can pretend Austin were a global brand powerhouse in the car industry.

Tedious c**t :laugh::laugh::laugh:

He's only making the same point the Telegraph think is worth making on the front page ;)

Pushing the boundaries of conspiracy theories one step far if anyone is suggesting it being ready for the first Wasps game as any kind of deliberate ploy.

Maybe they deliberately delayed the project from opening in June cause they knew the rugby season was over. :thinking about:

Maybe when they announced the opening date for the project as being June, someone typed end of June, when they meant to type end of September.

The 12 Coventry based Wasps fans will be salivating over this!

About time the CT realised that Wasps are not a Coventry club and that they are a Coventry paper, so putting stories about Wasps is pretty much irrelevant to nearly everyone who reads their rag.

In their defence I'd say the point that the football club is in danger of being marginilised is a point worth making.

We can argue the whys (and God how we argue!) but not sure that's something to be swept under the carpet.

Still a full 2 months to go till City kick off, what's the fricking hold up...................perhaps super Ann wants to be photographed cutting the tape on the morning of Wasps first game ! Nothing like a woman scorned they say !

That headline should be completely the other way round.

Not in time for CCF's first game, but in time for Wasps.

Correct.....The Headline could appear to be celebrating the fact.......It should definitely be the other way around keeping in mind that CCFC are a Coventry sports TEAM from 1883 & London WASPS are a shitty sports FRANCHISE from 2015.....

Also, why the fuck haven't we got sky blue tarmac & white lines.....even the platform is in their colours;)

Yes, but it's not just that, it's the fact that pretty much everyone who reads the Coventry Telegraph is not a Wasps fan. The people of Coventry read the Coventry Telegraph and I dare say, that they are either CCFC fans, or Cov rugby fans or Blaze or Bees fans, or don't follow sport at all.

How many Coventry Wasps fans have we got in reality? Got to be in the hundreds tops at the moment.

I don't know the answer to that but sadly I'd guess there are hundreds if not thousands more than there was this time last year !
