Does that mean if Wolves say yes he's coming to us? Would you think fee or loan?

I think it's fair to say given his social media exploits that you can conclude if given the opportunity he'll come back to us. Genuinely no idea if it would be loan or fee, I'm not sure what we're capable of financially.

Just need to see wait and see what Wolves do I guess.

I just hope we have a backup. Don't want to be in a Mowbray situation where we wait all summer, Wolves say no and then we have to fill a key part of our team with whatever's left.

Badlan will have a backup ready to present to Robin's if Bright looks unlikely. I wouldn't expect him to be as good though. Times have definitely changed since the Mowbray era

Don't think he's good enough to be honest. I speculated on the idea last year because he impressed me in league two but he only managed four goals last season. We're better than that

Thought he looked decent against us a few seasons ago, was linking with a few clubs last season however i dont think he got much game time because of him handing in a transfer request

Interesting he's said there could be 3 signings coming in, especially given Boddy has claimed the club is looking to recruit a maximum of 2 more. I'm not one to take things at face value though as obviously things can change in football. E.g. Players being moved on/sold or better players being identified. Any indication of positions?

No mate he was told very exciting times ahead. But Ricoh shit has to be sorted first I also think the top targets ie Bright etc are probably are relying on Wilson cash.

New signings are based on us playing at the Ricoh? If that's the case they're not coming unfortunately. A number of bids are being prepared for Callum but I have a feeling his price tag could be an issue so again, hardly comforting.

No that's me saying need to sort Ricoh out.Signings are close but could easily get scuppered by other teams hence why every bit of business is always signed and sealed before MR even mentions anything.

What do you mean “sort Ricoh out”?

Yep but the most likely scenario is Chaplin mark II. We fail to sign our primary target before the start of the season and then the prospect of sorting out a loan drags on for the whole of August. In Chaplin’s case he did join but it was disruptive and the chance of Enobakhare being hijacked by another club are considerably higher even if it looks like he wants to come back. Remember even the sainted Carl got his head turned by a massive salary offer from India scuppering his dream Ricoh return for another 6 months.

Ok so what do you mean by Ricoh needing to be sorted first? Before anymore signings come in as we need the season ticket sales for wages?

Possibly. But I can’t see any scenario where the Ricoh will be “sorted” at least in the short to medium term so what does that mean for exciting times?

Wouldn’t be an improvement on what we have.

Scored less than Chaplin and Bakayoko in L2. Not the kind of player we want.

People may have better memories than me but, in the summer break...

2017 Robins brought in 10 new players (inc Hyam who was notionally for development). Of those 6 have been good, two (Biamou and McDonald) were good in parts, and there were two duds, O'Brien & Vincenti. That gives Robins a success rate of 70%, which I would say is very good.

2018 Robins bought seven players and this time the performance is much more patchy - two have been good, Mason and Hiwula, four have been good in parts (Baka, Brown, Westbrooke and Chaplin). Ogogo was a dud. That is a success rate of 57%. Which I reckon is about par. However if you add in the loans of Thomas and Sterling then his success rate is 67%

2019 he has bought 9 including Pask, but excluding Bartlett, a number inflated by the relatively unusual need to find two goalies.

Fair but I'd say due to expectations of Brown and Chaplin they are more Did than patchy

Yet we got a promotion followed by a top 8 finish. Not sure what you expect

The expectation of Chaplin was down to the length it took to get him signed and him being over hyped. He was just a rookie, this season I’m going to give him a clean slate and time, still think there’s a decent player there given the chance.

redundant argument, I never said I wasn't happy with how the team played but you can't exactly say those two particularly excelled. Especially when Chaplin cost a fair chunk and Brown came in on rave reviews.

The original message you replied to was about recruitment as a whole. You are picking out 2 individuals to suit your flaky argument.

Read the original post again, it's about who he rated as good, patchy or duds. The poster said Brown and Chaplin were patchy and I said they were more duds in my eyes.

Not really sure why you'd get sand in your fanny over that?

Judging by your post its you who has had nerves touched. Time of the month?
Chaplin and brown also weren't duds. Patchy was accurate.

Also surely that means he'll be looking to move at least one striker out? Maybe 2

Ponti needs a season long loan to a league two team, to prove himself.
