Coventry City should play in Coventry, CV6 is far out enough for most people. Its all poppycock anyway. Pay the rent you eejits and stop playing stupid games, you are making us look even more ridiculous at a troubled time.

If they've got a decent whack of money lying around why don't they buy half the stadium were already in as opposed to building a new one ?

Genuine question, I seem to be being thick
The council wont sell half the stadium without getting funds to regenerate the surrounding area

there is of course the little matters of

- the current lease runs for another 30 + years cant just walk away from it

- cant just transfer the league golden share from CCFc to a new company

- League rules say that the club has to be close to the connurbation it represents

- if CCFC wound up the golden share goes with it

- depending on where it is the Council or other councils could object to planning permission and tie it up for years

- all delays cost

- modern stadiums come with much more than a pitch and stands .... they have to so that they are viable ...... need 365 day usage

- cost of finance (interest) will be bigger than the rent we currently cant afford

apart from that it all makes perfect sense

I can see it being at the Stoneleigh exhibition ground as loads of space, little planning constraints, reasonable access, resonable infrastrucutre and you would get commercial backing. Shame about the smell from Finham sewage works if the winds in the wrong direction though

That would sum up their knowledge of the area if they descibe stoneleigh as south Warwickshire.

because it was on sky,we have been through this

why ddint you go to tranmere? you hardly live up to your username

oh tranmere wasnt tramp prices...i remember

I didn't go because I had an exam in the morning, I think revision takes precedence here.

You know what, thinking about it, others have work commitments, as do I, but, I have flexible hours as I'm only part-time, so i can work before, or after the game I'm happy to take my comments.

With all the disappointments of the last week or so it's kind of sisu/Mutton to give us all a good laugh. Has Grendel been spotted with a shovel anywhere?

Not so sure aboutu the access - those local roads through Stoneleigh would be rammed with our 31000 crowds

Still it would piss off some of the country loons that live there so go for it :guitar2:

Ha! Yeah, nice one. Have a go at the minority again, the guy from the Sky Blues Trust with no axe to grind.

Exactly why I don't trust the Trust.

The Ricoh is only 1 mile from being in Warwickshire Council's area anyway so it wouldn't be too much further. We could be talking just off the A46 between here and Kenilworth really.

Good idea though, if we want the football club to survive it's important that we have access to other income than matchday and shop for financial fair play rules. If the Ricoh caved a little on that then I'm sure a deal would be done, if not it makes sense to play elsewhere so we can still compete in this division let alone higher.

We stay here with no more incoming revenue then we go down again, simple as that I think.

I Didn't realise that we had a good fan base in Kenilworth and Warwick, there's always Torch I suppose.!
Maybe they could hire an ex Bertram Mills big Top, we've already got a bunch of clowns to run it

p.s enjoy your youth, because one day unless your lucky life becomes about working what feels like 24/7 and it isnt as easy to get free time as it used to be

Mutton has just stated on the radio that Sisu have told acl that they will build a new £30m stadium in South Warwickshire if they can't agree rent.

Oh great, whats that smell? I think I stepped on dog poo on my lunchtime walk! Oh no wait, thats it, the distinctive aroma of bull$hit coming from SISU oh how i've missed you.

What would you get for 30 million these days? Stadium wise?

Crazy idea spend 1/3rd of that and buy Higgs share of the Ricoh

If they will do business with you, now.

From what i hear, the biggest problem regarding the rent is not the amount per year as such, its the payment of the arrears. SISU basically dont want to pay them.

No one said we were skint did they?

They are not skint, unfortunately they encourage the whole world to think CCFC is skint as it suits their business negotiations.

Not realising the full extent of the negative impact it had on our club attracting talent and keeping it!

Did you do that in your best Vincent Price voice? Proof then, Dongo. Come on, for once give us proof that you are right. A glimpse of a balance sheet or an email or two would suffice.

I'd like a new stadium built, i'd like a manager to stick around an develop the club on the pitch of that new stadium, i'd like a board to pay for that new stadium, new manager and new players to play on the new pitch...

...i'd like to win the euro millions and make this all happen.

Yes, exactly. SISU are a disaster for CCFC. They have cultivated the idea that the club has to "cut its coat" etc. blah d blah. Its nonsense and the gullible have swallowed it.
