My take...

[Briles]

Now the hangovers and celebrations have died down, just a quick recap from my perspective. (Not that it matters)

I was so upset when robins was sacked. The bloke reconnected the club with the fanbase to a level i hadnt seen since the 90s. At a point when it wasnt deserved.

Lampard and the coaching staff have
been incredible. Lets be honest, this current team isnt prem ready. But my god did they do a number on the championship.

No parachute payments, just pure skill and belief.

I stood with my son yesterday whos 13 (never known anything but success him) and i shed a tear.

He asked why i was sad and i said i wasnt they were happy tears, he called me a melt .

For those of you born 87 or before, I get it. And for those of you born after drink this stuff in.

I am so proud to be a cov fan.

Heres to next season.

I watched this yesterday (woke up laughing)

[long way home]

The 87 FA cup final changed the club to those looking in from the outside forever. Those within who were lucky enough to be there had an unbelievable experience of what that feeling and experience meant. Unfortunately that opportunity we had to change the club within forever didn't follow. Its been a long road back and at times a road that i thought we would never travel. Yesterday, that changed and that road went through a new city with new fans who had an experience those had in 87.

I just get a feeling this time the opportunity to change the club forever will not be forsaken. The money generated now if done right can build a foundation that builds this club up to fulfill its potential. I want the best players and to beat Utd and Chelsea again. But if them wins comes at a cost of 25 years of the last road travelled, id sacrifice it to watch the younger generation have a sustainable, safe club that can build to give success until they introduce the next generation to the club.

Spend smart, build this club infrastructure and the city will follow.

Listening to Doug on that podcast with Henry Winter that’s what he said he was doing.

Not lumbering us with more debt but doing things sustainably for the future.

That won’t mean spunking a load of money on transfers but spending wisely and using data to pick the best value.

Interesting comment about not being Prem ready. Were there, we’re ready for whatever comes our way.
