Yes it will be, it is mathematically impossible for it to be lower than Pressley in 5 games time.

No it isn't. He's won 21 out of 58 according to my reckoning.

I've just said about 2 minutes ago its difficult to sign players for January due to financial constraints at our club and then you throw out the 9 players since December nonsense.

In January we are either limited to loans who everyone moans about and also you can't have more than 5 playing, or you sign unattached players who have played very little football that season and won't be up to speed.

Yes a lot of them haven't been good signings but you also have to recognise the difficulties of signing new players at that time of year.

It looks like he didn't know the ingredient.

As mentioned before changing the Manager is not the answer, if it was Jimmy Hill would have been sacked as a failure. Stability in both Manager and players is essential. Burton have been on a semi slide since appointing Clough.

20 out of 57 I think, if in 5 games time it is 20/62 then that would give him 32.3% which would still be higher than Pressley 32%.

If you are right and its 21/58 then 21/63 in 5 games time would given him 33.3% so either way your math is wrong.

Presumably you mean Mourinho. I hate to break it to you but he isn't a premier league manager. He's currently without a club.

I don't think he'd come here in the first place. Anymore irrelevant questions?

They both will then have 32% - this defence of his record is making you look very foolish

Well lets see what he can do in the summer, I was pleased with the overhaul he done last summer to the squad. He built a squad from scratch that for half the season rarely dropped out the top 4.

The signings in January and onwards haven't been great, its difficult to sign the right players at that time and we were desperate so seems we just took on almost anyone. At the moment I'm willing to give him a one time pass on that window due to the reasons mentioned and because I was also happy with the work done in his first transfer window, if he fails in the upcoming summer transfer window then my opinion may change in time.

so if I go to tesco and can't get something, I either get the next best thing rather than just a bit of everything.

I could understand if he wasn't allowed to bring a single player in.

Maybe next time I point out someone is a league one standard manager for the reasons you've just pointed out and the fact that he's had to step down a league to rebuild his career instead of attacking me and trying to promote the appointment of said manager as a reason everyone should be kissing SISU's ass along with the rest of your cronies you might want to listen to me instead.

The irony of pretty much all the posters on here who called me every name going for pointing out that he's not a premier league quality manager now being the ones who want him gone the quickest. Priceless. The experts on here must be the most fickle fans in the country eh sickboy?

I was merely playing devil's advocate, considering that he was being lauded as tactical genius at the time. Ive never praised or defended sisu, simply highlighted the rampant hypocrisy on this forum.

32.3>32

I have. He wouldn't take the job in the first place. How do you think Gareth Bale would do here. Ah bollocks while we're trying to point score with never going to happen fantasy scenarios make it Pelé. How do you think Pelé would do here?

Yep. And as I've just pointed out you're as guilty as rampant hypocrisy as anyone. When I made the comments I did when he signed on full time you were so eager to jump on the band wagon of disagree with everything I say you never actually stopped to think if I was right. Apparently you now think I was.

And this argument all assumes we won't win another game which I'm guessing is what you think will happen?

Yes but the January transfer window is like going and finding out 80% of the shop is unavailable unless you pay 250k for it. All that's left is the stuff that' been on the shelves for several months and past its sell by date or loan items and we know what problems that brings. Its not to do with not being allowed to bring players in, its the availability of good players at that time of the season.

I'm not crying about the lack of investment here, far from it. Just recognising the problems that come with signing players at that stage of the season for a club in our position. I think the only L1 club who significantly strengthened in January was Wigan and that was because they could afford it.

In the summer is typically when contracts expire so the pool of players we can sign from increases massively in the summer compared to during the season.

Let's face it, the job rebuilding this club is massive. It needs an excellent internal structure with realistic, short, medium and long term goals. It will need require good management skills, God use of resources and a high level of continuity in the management structure.

I don't believe chopping and changing managers like they are lottery tickets will move us forward at all. In fact I think it is one of the reasons we are where we are.

I don't know whether TM is the man for the job? Good start but appealing run since Christmas.

I would want to judge him on the following:
1 progress he feels he has made.
2 problems he still has and his solutions
3 why he thinks the results have been bad recently and his solutions.
4. His thoughts on squad, who his targets are, who he can realistically sign or retain.
5 Over all assessment of club, vision and how he plans to take the club forward.

Results alone, taken in isolation of the whole plan do not really give a true indication of where we are at in taking the club forward. But the recent run has been poor by anyone's standards. So I would expect a pretty dynamic presentation around the above points from TM and his team if I where the owner.

Not good signings for sure but I suspect Mowbray even knew that at the time. I think even at the time Ramage signed Mowbray said he wasn't that good but the defensive crisis was desperate at that point.

January is a hard time to make permanent signings for a club with little money as mostly you are looking at unattached players who haven't played in months.

Finally someone talking sense!!
What did people expect him to do in January? Spend cash like Wigan on some good quality players from this league.
Our defence was at crisis point, he had to address that he took a cheap quick fix in ramage. We all now that was a panic quick fix and not another loan. he then tries to tighten up with cargil and Stephens, more loans unfortunately.
That put us with AA, Murphy, Bigi, Maddison, cargil, Stephens. Maxed out with loans
What do people really expect him to do, frees are the only option. Yes they were shit, yes they didn't work. But did he no what they were about yes, worth a punt.
A team unbalanced with some bad luck in injuries to our defence. Kids being relied upon, so next best option is experienced frees to steady the ship.
What is everyone's realistic alternative?

Ever since we started signing the likes of Hunt, Ramage, Henderson etc...Mowbray upset the team spirit.

Mowbray has messed this up so bad this season.

Getting out of L1 will get more and more difficult each year now as teams are coming down with more and more money.

Who? Nobody as rich as Wigan next season. Sack Mowbray and appoint? Come on expert. You have piped up again. Last I heard you wrote the season off after the friendly at Nuneaton.

I think TM should have another season. I agree his signings in January were poor and have upset team spirit and dynamics. However the first half of the season promised so much. I want a repeat of that plus a continuance through to May. Come on TM deliver next season.

If this was any other 'lower league' manager he would have been sacked.

TM has held onto his position because the owners feel they are batting above their average with Mowbray, his premiership status and connections to other teams has given him that sprinkle of 'stardust' that investors like - they might be right - but the performance in the second half of the season has been pathetic. He has, albeit on loan, had one of the strongest teams in years, and yet once they were 'found out' ( i.e teams figure out how Cov played after the first games had been played) he has been found seriously wanting.

Should he be sacked? His man management must come under some sort of scrutiny, he should be asked to explain the results and how he attends to address it. At the same time he should ask the owners if they will provide the resources? What happens if City don't win a game the rest of the season-should he stay? Will the Board invest? God knows they need to. If not, who knows.....who next..Cotterell?
