They own the Ricoh, would get money from the football and rugby side, potential to make fortunes if invested correctly and got us to the premier league with TV rights etc...

Wasps won't take us over, they have no money which is why they "had to move", and then did the bonds to pay their owner back and the council loan.

Don't see why it would make any difference Torch. The club itself isn't a party to the dispute now, so presumably there would be no impact on the litigation if they pursued this as "ex-owners" rather than "owners". It's a historic dispute so current ownership shouldn't make any difference. Therefore, the judgement itself should therefore make no impact on how long they stay around. I might be wrong though??

Wasps are only loaded because they're £30m in debt to their bondholders. I see nothing in their recent history to suggest that Wasps owners are any better than SISU, they do not have Coventry City's (or the City of Coventry's) interests at heart.

They've bought an historic rugby club and turned it into a franchise to suit purely their own financial interests. These aren't the people I want to see in charge of our club.

Also will JR2 force Wasps into the action. If so this one really worries me as they are the ones we really need in side to have a genuine sustainable future in my opinion.

The problem they will have in claiming any compensation will be linking the cause and effect. JR1 would seem to be gone so once the club threw the keys in at the Ricoh then they severed any links

Here is another thought. The prospects of doing an improved long term deal at the Ricoh whilst SISU are suing Wasps are ........................ (a) excellent (b) good (c) maybe (d) small chance (e) no chance

As much as I can see the merits in SISU's case, I do wish a line could be drawn under it now. Carry on trying to get the club into a self-sufficient position, negotiate (as much as it pains me to say it) the best possible deal with Wasps/ACL and cut your losses by making the club available for takeover. Enough is enough.

Incidentally I don't know what the burden of proof is in a Judicial Review ... is it "beyond reasonable doubt" (which is unusual for a civil matter), or "on the balance of probabilities". Were SISU trying to claim that CCC had acted "illegally" (i.e. contrary to criminal law)?

It is pointless examining the council's behaviour unless you can look at the true context in which led to them taking such actions.

Councils of today and the past would have always wanted the best for their home town football club. It creates a feel good factor in the city and increases the chances of your campaign as been seen as successful.

With respect CJ, who are you or I to say that? This case might be done, but there are some mighty big questions about the conduct of the Council with regard to the arena and the sale that I'd be more than happy to be thrashed out properly in court.

And this has nothing to do with supporting SISU, but everything to do with making sure that our elected representatives and their officers are properly answerable for their decisions.

I thought that as well OSB but JR2 would be about the decision making process and valuation of the Ricoh by CCC, not Wasps isn't it? Wasps paid what they were asked to...that's not something that can be scrutinized. Isn't it the valuation that would be looked at in JR2?

I agree with the sentiment though that continued legal action will no doubt harm 'negotiations/discussions' with Wasps/ACL.
