Manchester City - 115 Charges (6 Viewers)

A lot of their revenue is built on their brand - a lot of their fans are really there just for kudos. The cheat label sticks. There will be huge concerns with potential legal action from other clubs. The whole reputation will change overnight
A big surprise. A lot of their income comes from a company involved in all this.....

These sponsors have known about this for years. They still sponsored them.

We got £11m in the championship last season, each team did. While they would be the most televised team next season, and maintain their dodgy sponsorships, their income would still plummet. Without getting players off their books, they could breach SCR the moment they are down.
They’d get parachute payments and unless they went back down they’d be out of reach of the championship

No sponsor will want to be associated with a huge scandal like this. The sponsors involved to date will be fighting hard to maintain their own reputations now.
Depends on the punishment metered out I suggest is one way they look at the exposure for them against the gain. If they drop to the championship for one season with all the talk and exposure they get, sponsors may view that as good for them.

You do realise a charge is different from a guilty verdict, and as such responses to that will differ wildly?
Of course it's different. But if you were worried about it would you sponsor someone with 115 charges hanging over them?

Do you know what these sponsorship details are? Do you know how many involve the owners in some way?

And the sponsorship isn't a massive amount. That's why they inflated it to look as though it was.

You'd do best doing your normal attacks on my posts if you chose a subject you had a clue about. You've already dropped their full income amount and where it comes from as you were so far away from reality.

That's what many don't seem to understand. As long as they're not involved like Etihad they're now getting a massive amount of coverage in the background. This would have been worked out when taking up sponsorship in the last 5 years or so.

The Stockholm Syndrome being displayed from a section of the Man City is quite a sad thing to watch …is quite possible to support your team and be aware that you have c**t owners, as we are very aware ..

Though admitting youve got c**t owners is a bit easier when theyve taken you to L2 and 2 stints playing outside your home city as opposed to bagging you a shit load of trophies (which will now, in all liklihood) be tainted

It must be difficult for some. They have gone from nowhere to becoming one of the best club sides in the world. They've been told everyone's out to get them. Many believe this.

Then you will have those who can see the truth and understand the truth getting shot down by the idiots they have.

Even when we had SISU we had those worried our next owners could be worse 😂

Why are so many here getting so aggressive oven Man City? They’re proven cheating cunts and deserve any punishment given out. Don’t keep fighting and point scoring on here it ain’t worth it

Quite a few on here took any criticism of owners as criticism of the club and reacted in a similar way tbf, especially when the football picked up on the pitch. Football fans do be like that.

You're once again making yourself look quite silly as you lack understanding of what you're saying. Again, stop parroting things online on here if you can't comprehend the context of your own argument.

Man City have agreed over two dozen commercial partnerships since the charges came out in 2023 when the charges were first announced. Most of these organisations originate either in Europe, USA or Asia.

I mean I didn't drop their full revenue, I said that's what they're poised to lose at least upon relegation. Can you read?

How long have you been on this forum?

If the appeal fails like most of us hope it will then imo it's likely the FA or PL will make Abu Dhabi sell the club like they did to Chelsea then a load of these shady sponsorships will probably disappear .

All the UAE ones will go
Puma won't want to be associated
Same with Betway, EA FC and a whole load of others

I just hope that whatever happens to them as a club, the infrastructure around the Etihad campus remains. It's rejuvenated that side of Manchester and done a lot for public access to sport as well as all the ancillary entertainment stuff that's grown up around it.

just wondering? Do we really care what happens to MCFC?
Hell yes. What a strange question for a Coventry fan to ask.

If they get a points deduction which guarantees relegation or are removed from the PL via a members vote its not only hilariously funny but it also and more importantly enhances our chances of staying up.

By a huge margin.

Only having to beat 2 other teams to stay up would be absolutely massive

It felt like things went against us for years, selling HR then getting relegated before parachute payments, running out of cash for the arena and CCC stepping in, ITV digital going bust at the wrong time.

Be good for things to go our way, although it wouldn't be the first time we've stayed in the PL due to a points deduction...

No you didn't. You said about their income drop and how it would put them in trouble. It's easy to qoute.

Yet again please check their income.

In their last accounts it was £677m. TV rights put that down to £400m. They would still get TV money but let's ignore this.

Let's take another £100m off. This leaves £300m. They're allowed to spend 85% on players and transfers. They're also allowed another £15m but let's also ignore this.

Without any player sales, TV money, sponsorship drals or extra money allowed they still have £255,000,000 to spend on their players. They certainly don't need to spend money on bringing in players. If this is spread out over a 24 man squad it gives an average wage of over £200,000 a week per player.

They will most probably have players that want to leave. They have lots of players valued at more than the budget of Championship sides. They could spend 85% of this. They've just bought another £450m of players. It was their cheating that got them to this level and what the punishment should be set against. But it won't.

Things went well for us last season. Two relegated sides hit the financial wall in their chase to become established Prem sides. The other one wasn't as good as expected. All of this at a time it finally came together for us. Promoted with games to go and ended up with a massive gap to 2nd.

Manchester City have been fighting this for years. It looks like they will get their comeuppance in the 1st season back for us.

Luck? It's about time we had some

What he is saying is the commercial and corporate income would collapse as a guilty verdict is something no brand would want to be associated with. Why on earth would they? Income would fall through the floor. The wage bill is about half a billion isn’t it?

Revolut are already having the piss taken out of them online for their association with Man City. And it may be a coincidence, but where I had been seeing their "Welcome to Haaland's bank" ad nearly every time I went onto YouTube, I haven't seen them since the weekend the news broke.

No it isn't close to half a billion. This summer they bought £450m of players on an income of £677m. If it was close to what you say they would be in serious trouble for it, especially with how close they're being watched ATM.

As the calculations showed they can have 24 players on an average of over 200k a week on less than half their present budget if they end up in the Championship. Sponsorship deals are not the mega money some people like to make out. That's why they inflated them for 9 years. This summer they bought £450m of players on an income of £677m.

Losing £270m in TV rights for being in the Prem would be massive. But put that against an income of £677m and it isn't the disaster some would hope for.
