Of course it is as we can't be bothered to do it.
He's on the case but Sisu will stop that, after all we will be moving out soon so why waste money (or god forbid give the appearance we might be staying)

Also worth noticing the number of johnny come lately WASPS fans I suspect the person who covered the Jimmy Statute knew exactly who he was and was coventry area based - its part of the fun locals are getting humiliating this once great club.

Going forward we need to be united as one, club fans players unfortunately I don't think SISU are capable of doing this but my desire to play away from the Ricoh was increased but there are no feasible alternatives. Would rather play at a 15,000 Butts stadium

The guy who posted the video is from Bedworth, I don't know whether he knew the person who covered the statue. He did refer to him as 'my boy' so I'm guessing he did.

Point I'm trying to make is, I want Sisu gone before I want Wasps gone. New club ownership with football interests at heart and a decent rental agreement are what's best in the short term. If the novelty of Wasps does wear off as I hope it eventually will, then who knows.

We will always be the headline act as a sporting entity in this city.

Yep, the Ricoh or nothing stance is strange, I've seen a few people (rare I must add) say they wouldn't go to a new stadium even if it was built in Coventry.

Must have missed their posts but I guess they were there.
I think an 18,000 seater in Coventry would be okay to most providing an expansion to 32,000 is possible.
Initial talk of a 12,000 seater stadium would be okay for a D1 D2 club but probably put a lot off as it showed no intention for a return to the PL.

However Coventry is now out and I can't see myself travelling to Rugby to watch Coventry play.

Why would we need 32K unless Wasps are going to be playing Leicester there once a year.

tbh (and not directed at you btw) I never quite understood (and it happens in the interminable CCC v SISU arguments) why it has to be one or t'other.

Wouldn't it be great if by pure fluke the day SISU walked off was the day Wasps went bust!

The difficulty with SISU OUT first then Wasps is it may indeed be emotionally better, still not sure that gives the most attractive conditions to appeal to new owners though.

And that's the key to me, making sure whenever SISU do bog off, there's as much opportunity available to the football club as possible, to give us a choice of which owner's best of the many competing to buy us, rather than just be delighted any old mentalist steps forward.

The Wasps signage is depressing on a stadium that was built for CCFC.

Walking past the club shop and atrium entrance is sickening to me, that was OUR club shop.

Jimmy's statue should be moved either in front of the legends wall or down to Broadgate.

Having said that if i keep away from that side of the ground it still feels like home when we play.

The stadium external cladding is sky blue, there is CCFC signage.

once you are inside the stadium it looks sky blue to me with the huge CCFC and SKY BLUES seat signage

I suppose thats a decent compromise in a Wasps owned stadium

If they rip out the seats for black and gold then thats ruined it.

Correct. The wasps stuff is superficial.
The underneath of the stadium seating could still be expanded around (as at the front).
A shop could be built there that we could rent off ACL. Certainly cheaper than the current superstore.
The Wasps pull out curtains over the big tunnels could be retracted one way or the other depending on who is playing. Lots of other ideas for match days.
No excuse for not putting CCFC photographs around the dressing room area and tunnel. There is plenty of empty wall space.
If the halls are empty for big matches have a fanszone. Yes you will need to rent the hall but what you put in to sell it is up to CCFC.
You don't need hotels and exhibition halls at the Ricoh, you can make money by having them elsewhere.

At D1 level it is difficult to leverage any additional incomes but surely we want PL so that's why the talks need to start now.
Things like rentals, football incomes, office space, etc need to be planned now with rising scale of incomes, rentals etc as we go up the leagues.

It is not necessary to own everything to generate incomes. Sometimes there are advantages on not having to finance huge capital projects like stadiums.
Did TF think that when saying ACL was not worth £20 (with loan).
I suspect we will have a period of acceptance by Sisu while they recover from their failed plan. Hopefully they will then come to the party.

I refuse to accept anything else until we have tried and failed.

How do you know that renting a shop from ACL (after it has been built) is going to be cheaper than the current superstore?

So we rent the exhibition hall? What are we going to sell in there to make money? We won't be able to sell food/beverages as compass has the contract and license to do that at the Ricoh? We wouldn't even cover the cost of renting the hall.

You refuse to accept anything unless we have tried and failed on a long term agreement at the Ricoh..........

If only fans showed as much anger and passion against sisu as they do towards wasps and a statue. No wonder this club of ours is fucked. More concerned about a statue than the demise of the club

Have they got the contract on all food/beverage. If someone hires the hall for exhibitions do they have to get the food off Compass or can they provide their own ?
Was the Bus bar and all the outside catering for wasps matches provided by Compass?
Who did Land Rover pay to sell their products from the car park ?
Do you know the cost of hiring the hall ?

The answer is no you don't, so why make stupid statements based on your hate of wasps ?

I suspect Sisu can't do anything because at this level they have no leverage.
But set targets for the future. Offer more rent for the Championship and silly rent for the PL because it will be nothing in the scheme of things.
But trade off incomes generated on football matches and give us an incentive to improve and provide extra incomes for wasps and ourselves.
Give the fans hope that we can survive at the Ricoh, because realistically there is no other feasible option and just maybe it can be achieved.

I refuse to give in without trying like some on here.

Don't know why I keep arguing with the same 5 people as the majority of fans at matches are not bothered about the finances.

You aren't allowed to provide your own food, I asked when asking about birthday parties and renting space there.

I was Told it was a tenner per kid for nuggets and chips or nothing.

May be different for whole exhibition halls though.

Why are you so desperate for ccfc to stay at all costs? You go on about people saying things because of their hatred for wasps, where are your views coming from? Somebody who loves the ricoh?

Am I missing something, don't land rover pay to sponsor wasps?

There's hardly any anger towards wasps and a div climbing on the statue. If 20 years ago some London rugby club bought highfield road and started defacing it there would've been proper anger. The pride in this City has gone.

The 14 years since relegation and especially the SISU era has diluted our support, whilst a new stadium would be great not in Exhall or Long lawford and can SISu deliver one lets be honest

Was the Bus bar and all the outside catering for wasps matches provided by Compass? It would have been unless Wasps paid compensation for loss of income as it would be covered by the Compass contract
Who did Land Rover pay to sell their products from the car park? I think its a fairly safe bet its part of their Wasps sponsorship
Do you know the cost of hiring the hall ? I do through my work with AEG, its not cheap but I'm not sure if its supposed to be publicly known as they may well charge different rents to different clients.

Would be the same with the exception of something like a beer festival or food festival where obviously you need to be able to server other things. That would be taken into consideration in the hire cost and a compensation payment made to Compass.

Obviously if you have a kids party in an area where food is already provided you can't bring your own food.
But if you hire an empty hall you should be able to do what you like, who knows?
We need to stay because a new stadium would be a disaster financially and on current information would fall far short of the world class Ricoh arena.
Can't see it providing extra income as it does not include hotels conference facilities etc and being out of town is unlikely to have a 365 footfall.
Yes I love the Ricoh and so do the majority of away fans I have spoken too. I suspect the majority of home fans like it there and it could be so much better if we personalised it for CCFC as well.

Personally a 30 minute walk to the Ricoh is better than a trip to Rugby.

Dave knows, he just replied.

It wasn't in an area where food was already provided either. They said straight out if it was to be there, they provide the food.

Let's put aside personal reasons, I am sure landlords and people who gain in the pocket from Wasps and CCFC being at the Ricoh will be a bit biased won't they.

Personally to me the Ricoh is on my door step, but if I have to drive 20 minutes then so be it.

We will rent it off Sisu and any incomes from it will be at their discretion.

Do Wasps rent the stadium?

You are scraping the barrel a bit, I would have thought you wouldn't mind the club moving as you are always so keen to say how great Wasps moving is?

You are right though, the club shouldn't move ever, they should just open businesses in other industries to make money. Corner shops, takeaways, hotels, electricians, it is never ending.

I've been to a fair few events (Davies cup tennis, insomnia, concerts) at the Ricoh and in the exhibition hall and its always compass/Ricoh food outlets. It's how they make money. Same at the NEC.

Didn't he just say he knows the general pricing through work?

So you are just going to keep saying things and when people give a reasonable response just say they don't know anything?

I guess you know everything though as fact?

It really is the Ricoh or nothing for some, it is quite sad really. Although I can understand why local pub owners and business owners wouldn't want CCFC to move away from the Ricoh and love Wasps being here.

No one is saying move without seeing any detail, they are saying don't discount the possibility that a new stadium offers a better future and that it should be fully investigated.

You're the one blindly saying we should sign up with Wasps for decades to come no matter how bad the deal is and how little chance it gives us of progressing past our current level.
