TV over there is flooded with pharma adverts for specific brands so much so most TV income comes from pharma, so far the attempts to removing that influence haven't amounted to much.

The USA and NZ are the only countries in the world that permit that kind of direct to customer advert which results in patients going to their MD and asking for hevily marked up branded products or new to market drugs that are aggressively marketed. In fact generic products in the US are on the whole cheaper than in Europe.

It is a shit show and has been since 1997 when the rule changed, this was in Bill Clinton's presidency.

There’s been a few indicating they’d lean to Greens and many of policies they represent. Gone a bit quieter the more that imbecile has opened his mouth though. Ultimately he’s a populist chancer with two iffy deputies.

I’ll keep saying it, it’s frightening that around 50% of the population appear supportive of either Reform or Greens. I can only think thats purely what they read on X/Bluesky and general frustration with politics. Thats not to say that both don’t have some valid points and arguments around policy, just that when i look at the whole, certainly at this stage, they’re totally unelectable.
