Don't worry. The US will likely arm the Kurds to their back teeth & train them up to defeat ISIS. Then flushed with victory - would it surprise anyone if they mounted an assault on Turkey to set up their own Kurdish state straddling it & Iraq?
There is no answer it seems other than leave them to sort themselves out. Painful indeed to see the slaughtering...but it has always happened on various levels & scales - & gone ignored by most. It's mainly because now it's on TV vividly bringing it to our own sitting rooms we (as a general public) feel the need to do something. BUT for every action taken there is a negative consequence of some sort.

Writing groups off as madmen never works. For a group to be that successful they have to be offering something that at least some rational people buy into. The 21st century is scary for lots of people, especially traditionalists.
They get ISIS, we get UKIP. Same thing, differing degrees. Unless we work out how to help people adapt to the pace of change well keep seeing this in one form or another.

What is difficult for Obama and Cameron is that fracturing powerful Arab nations like Iraq and Syria helps to preserve Israel as a dominant force in the region, and we all know what influence the pro-Israeli lobby has over British and especially American politics.

Good point, Jimmy Savile's crimes were hidden until he died. Close friends with the Thatcher establishment and the Royals too. Let's not pretend that child abuse cover ups are done only to protect ethnic minorities from recriminations.
