So is our top sky blue? Are we still the Sky Blues because that is the colour of our socks and shorts?

I don't like our present home top. It looks like free advertising for Tesco. It isn't Sky Blue. Yet I am being told that we shouldn't accept a takeover that solves our clubs main problems in case our tops move away from Sky Blue :muted:

The front of the shirt is about 40% sky blue, the shorts are sky blue and the socks are sky blue. Yes too much white but we still identify as the sky blues. Thr blue is sky blue, cloud in the sky are white. And its more sky blue than this previous kit for example.

Or the previous season:

Were we the sky blues then or not?

Like i said, I don't like the current kit, I would like more sky blue, but it does identify us as the sky blues. A change to say RB Leipzig's kit for example is a complete rebranding, and this it the same kit all of the RB teams wear. Regardless of their diet version being sky blue they would want all the teams to wear the same home kit, its all about the branding.

The Red Bull thing is complete speculation any way.

New York Red Bulls away kit. If we had something like that as a home kit I wouldn't be too fussed to be honest. We've worn different shades of blue over the years so I'd take that over this continual decline.

So about 20% of our tops are sky blue? I wouldn't go that high. But we should say no to a takeover if our tops had less than 20% sky blue?

I think the fact that we are as low as we are dictates that we can only afford generic shirts from manufacturers, this would have been part of Tims cost cutting issue hence the size issues as well as you cant get things for fat blokes either. If their was proper investment a shirt can be designed for the club rather than just the colours being changed to fit the club on a standard design. I dont mind if any one comes in at the moment as I dont think they could do a worse job than the Sisu, If it were red bull then why not go back to the old red singers kit for away matches and skyblue for home that would fit both the traditionalists and the owners if it were to be Red Bull (not holding my breath though).

Malaga in LA Liga has the same kit as us, I saw a Series A team play in a black/blue version of our kit the other day on sky. I'm sure there are clubs in other top leagues wearing similar 'standard' Nike kits too, nothing about how low we have dropped.

Whilst I would like to see myself as a traditionalist, we are in a desperate state we risk losing a whole generation of fans whilst we continue our slide with poor players losing games in a mostly empty stadium, the current fare on offer at CCFC was not what got me in love with the sky blues back in the mid 70s. The sky blue identity can be managed and maintained - I think we need a darker sky blue such as what Lazio and Man City have. I would struggle with the badge being changed - but I can compromise on that if it means we move forward

You want pride back in the club so you think selling your soul to a corporate brand is the answer? That is not pride.

I'm sorry northern but didn't I have a discusssion with you recently where you were in favour (or at least open to) liquidating the club. What is that if not a total rebranding without any of the history.

It stays Coventry City then, however.

Comparisons to Jimmy Hill aren't fair either as that was a revamp of image for identity.

Bringing in a commercial company for their brand values is my idea of hell, almost as much as franchising.

Great night up In Liverpool.
I've read through the thread again and again.
I'm still of the opinion it's something through Fisher and the Butts.
However as I've read back the third time something clicked through my mind where I'd mentioned an aspect of Andersons role through all of those meetings.
Those aspects must have been broached.
Are there two competing outcomes here?
He did seem an odd pick for CEO, I wouldn't have had him down as one for sorting mundane ticketing or retailing operations others lower down could take care of that.
I thought and think there was more to his selection and role here?
Time will tell.

Changing the badge never bothered me, it was the laughable amateur design that was the issue.
After all the current badge isn't the same as it was in the 70's or 80's so its been changed before.
