The reality is that there are a number of income, accommodation etc rules that have to be met to bring a spouse into the country. It’s not an automatic right. It’s so strange that the rules cross the piece are far more stringent than the last few years whilst still seemingly allowing people to access the country on small boats regularly all be it in small numbers
It’s such a big mess and I can’t help thinking that it’s going to get a lot worse before getting better
It’s incredibly hard yepThe reality is that there are a number of income, accommodation etc rules that have to be met to bring a spouse into the country. It’s not an automatic right.
Yea there are clearly assumptions that you can automatically bring a spouse into the country and live there legally, it’s not actually the case. It’s incredibly hard yep
I know of two families where the wife couldn’t work while she was here despite one being a gp.
Maybe I'm not being very clear.Wouldn't all foreign born spouses be migrants?
Friend of mine, from a non-European country, works in the fiance sector in the city. I think its the difference between asylum and migration.Friend of mine, from a non-European country, works in the fiance sector in the city. Has worked here for several years, her husband is not allowed to join her here.
He has a degree, would be working and contributing to society but doesn't meet the threshold.
Makes me sceptical when I see posts declaring that people have a right to bring their entire family over the second they step foot on British soil and we can't do anything about that without abandoning the ECHR

So id suggest keeping those who dont think Murder or Rape is culturally usual. Call me old fashionedSo how do you solve it then. Deport all those that aren't willing to integrate? How do you suppose we judge if someone is willing or not to integrate?
Well how do you decide who that is. Who is going to admit they think murder or rape is culturally usualSo id suggest keeping those who dont think Murder or Rape is culturally usual. Call me old fashioned
No no. Not who admits it. Who does it.Well how do you decide who that is. Who is going to admit they think murder or rape is culturally usual
No no. Not who admits it. Who does it.
Well obviously. deporting murderers and rapists is hardly controversial. not going to be many people though is it to solve the crisisNo no. Not who admits it. Who does it.
Not many?Well obviously. deporting murderers and rapists is hardly controversial. not going to be many people though is it to solve the crisis
Nope. But there are demographics who do it more.Is there a demographic on earth that doesn't do it?
oh dear oh dearNope. But there are demographics who do it more.
500 or so murders to march 2025Not many?
Thats an actual fact and you respond with that. Tututoh dear oh dear
Oh that's ok then500 or so murders to march 2025
well you are saying to deport them 500 people isn’t going to make a dent on those coming inOh that's ok then
I mean clean slate right? Deport the 500 who didn't integrate and let 1000 in who might? Is that right?well you are saying to deport them 500 people isn’t going to make a dent on those coming in
i mean my original question was how do you decide who’s integrated and who hasn’t. you suggested deporting the 500 murderers a year where we assume all aren’t british. not much of a solution is itI mean clean slate right? Deport the 500 who didn't integrate and let 1000 in who might? Is that right?
You cant deport people who are britishi mean my original question was how do you decide who’s integrated and who hasn’t. you suggested deporting the 500 murderers a year where we assume all aren’t british. not much of a solution is it
what’s your solution for identifying those who won’t integrateYou cant deport people who aren't "British".
Deportation. Those who have proved their inability to integrate get kicked out. I dont know why this is so alien to people.what’s your solution for identifying those who won’t integrate
yes but how do you identify those are unable to integrate, other than if they murder or rape someoneDeportation. Those who have proved their inability to integrate get kicked out. I dont know why this is so alien to people.
Short of kicking everyone out you cant. Its the price we pay for open borders. So innocent until proven guilty is the closest you can get. But its not enough, and anyone with a modicum of sense can see thatyes but how do you identify those are unable to integrate, other than if they murder or rape someone

Good point.Being able to use the local language to a decent level for starters. If you can't speak the language, you have nothing to offer the country you're in.
so in short you can’t adviise a solutionShort of kicking everyone out you cant. Its the price we pay for open borders. So innocent until proven guilty is the closest you can get. But its not enough, and anyone with a modicum of sense can see that
I gave you a solution. You need to read better.so in short you can’t adviise a solution
In that case there will probably be more British returning to the country.Being able to use the local language to a decent level for starters. If you can't speak the language, you have nothing to offer the country you're in.
