Just got back to London after game, dropped a couple of mates off before getting home to south London...couple of general observations before I go off on one....

    1) as at Pompey, we brought a good number of fans but the general atmosphere was subdued; hardly surprising as we have nothing to play for and everyone is worried about the future;

    2) more anti-SISU chanting, but, as at Pompey this seemed half-hearted and more abstained than joined in - it was different at home to Donny where it was very loud and sustained

OK - as many will know, it was a pain in the arse with everyone having to queue on the path back to the train station. Hanging around an industrial estate next to the M6 is nobody's idea of fun, but I and others needed to head north (along with some Walsall fans) and obviously there was a lot of City fans going south, so, due to the policing of the queue, an empty north-bound train left Bescot whilst lots of people were bottled up in the queue unable to get to the platform. Only mildly annoyed by this as there was another train 20 mins later, but surely it is not beyond the wit of man to have more than 1 queue for the 2-platform station? Didn't help that a couple of obnoxious Walsall idiots tried to push their way though the queue.

OK - main gripe: once on the station we were stood on the opposite platform to the City fans waiting for the service back to BNS. There were a few Walsall kids on our platform acting like a bunch of yokels, but the goading and abuse they were getting from some City fans, many of them grown men, was just embarrassing. I was there with my Ciy scarf on while dozens of fellow supporters were jeering and inciting a bunch of idiotic teenagers over the tracks. Frankly, it made the whole Cov support on the platform look like a bunch of chavs. I know that is not the case but it just looks bad; why is that when we have a big away support there are always some idiots who let us down?? I know all clubs have got a problem with a minority of wankers, but it does seem to be a recurring theme for us.

Oh and the game - what a non-event that was! I just hope to God that we do not end up playing at the Bescot full time.

Dont know where you were but anti SISU chanting was at least 90% plus.

It doesn't even seem worth mentioning to be honest.

People wearing Coventry City colours basically going to someone else's patch and acting like twats...it annoys me

But this would happen if you had people coming back from a concert drunk or anywhere with a large gathering, its just a general life gripe in my opinion. Worse happens in the house of commons bar!!

The shouting on both sides of the platform at the train station seemed good natured to me. Most of the Walsall fans were laughing about it ditto with the Coventry fans. Always a tiny minority of people going too far but the BTP dealt with it quite well.

We left stadium at 3-0 as two idiots in our stand started fighting each other and my wife took a whack on the head.
I know everyone was frustrated but now seen a few scuffles among own fans in recent weeks.
We were at station early with around 200 fans and got train fine, but could see police holding everyone back under M6

Partly good natured but part not - if it was really good natured, police would not have to step in. Police kept having the calm down the Walsall kids around me as they were clearly being wound up. When the BNS train arrived, there were City fans on board hammering on the windows repeatedly and taunting a bunch of kids - fucking grow up you bulbs

Every teams are the same. We're not bad.

2500 people, especially from a City like Coventry, a few giving it the big one isn't bad..

May aswell have titled this 'idiot City fans at the Bescot'.

The fans who ran down giving it the 'bigun' and to hurl abuse towards Westcarr when he went to take a corner should be ashamed! You wouldn't act like that if you were on a street, and didnt have another few thousand people behind you, so dont pretend you would when in front of the thousand + other City supporters! Yes it was a minority but you looked like tools! And opposition fans notice these fans. And not the ones who go to the game to watch the game!

Dont suppose you'd be arguing with the police out on the streets either!

    Rant over :)

Yes, while waiting for the fans I was in the oppo's shoes, and didn't like it one bit. A platform full of CCFC fans mostly behaving like a bunch of mongs. Walsall them selves were decently behaved and didn't give us any abuse during the game, though some of our lot did dish some out to them.

Bet a lot of them went home thinking "CCFC have got a load of fans with big-time Charlie attitudes - a club with a lot of moronic supporters" - because that's how it looked.

Being a football fan is not a licence to behaving like a complete fucking tool

I go home alot of the time thinking this too. Usually from our home and away games ;)

There hasn't even been a punch up or any reported disorder, stop getting your knickers in a twist about nothing.

I've read there was atleast one punch up between our own fans, but police did nothing (allegedly), so it would go unreported.

It wouldnt surprise me if there was, but creating a thread saying idiot cov fans over nothing that doesn't happen at most games is overkill.

You should have been to Reading away last season, had to drag a girl kicking and screaming away from a line of coppers she was yelling at. Or Millwall away - same season, same scenario!

Lighten up you damp flannel. I was at the station and it would be no different with any club.

Aah, so it's OK because all football fans generally are just mugs?

Good advert for the game isn't it?

Worse advert for the game is making Walsall look like Brazil.

There was that too! The incident involving me was outside ground, by the turnstiles

Also, remember when it nearly kicked off at the final whistle of the Wet Brom away game on a midweek in early 2010?

Here, hold on a minute! I was the other end of the platform and we weren't goading or shouting anything across the rails, so don't give it the platform FULL of idiots!

Got to agree anyone would think this was new but could have been worse just go back 10 years they would have been trowing bricks and stuff so a bit of heckling doesn't hurt anyone. Better name calling then bricks.

Unfortunately it is part of the game some is tasteful some is not

I think I know who your on about, and the reason behind this would be because when we was queuing up they was standing by us having a good old chat with some city supporters but as soon as they got on the platform we was having a good old sing song and then they started goading such as saying 4-0 4-0 4-0 4-0 and that what started most city fans

I have been to all the away games this season and cannot agree more about morons that suddenly turn up when we are winning it really pisses me off. Right at the begining of the season was always a great atmosphere with the fans recently the away singing has gone down hill also but the signs of trouble are reappearing
