19 games 8 goals ( 12 without a goal ) in 1332 minutes

The abuse the guy gets everywhere , in the stands and on socials is mental end of story , hed be best off moving at this point

Amazing, isnt it? Top of the league with a massive gap between us, 2nd and 3rd. Record broken all season, yet some would rather slag off our own players...Wright and Brau being the latest targets. Some of the comments at games and on here are truly shameful.

Football fans are emotional..its an emotional sport when your invested heavily, live and breathe your team. This is just frustration boiling over.

Haji Wright is the best striker striker in the league on par with Josh Sargeant.

They both had really bad patches and had injuries etc. Haji still had better season.

If he stays (hoping he does) im backing Haji all the way.

I love Ellis Simms and i dont care if Ellis has a goal every game he starts. Haji is still the better footballer and if folks on here cant see that then theres no helping them.

Take the point but it’s honestly amazing how, when out of form, he struggles with the most basic things.

Wright when he wants to play is great bit far to often he looks doesn't look interested whether that is the formation or his instructions on how to play I don't know just wish he could look like he did against scumderland last year when he got a hat trick, hopefully he kicks on from now to the end of the season as we need to start taking our chances again. The lack of our 2nd goal is really costing us.

I will say if we sold Wright and picked up Piroe for less, I would be ok with that. Piroe is as close to a sure thing as you get in this league.
The main difference between the two is that piroe isnt fancied at premier league level at all but haji wright i believe could potentially offer something at that level

Piroe good at champ level absolutely ,here and now

That really annoyed me and was embarrassing. I really do despair at the mentality of some of our away support, mirrored by some once here.

The other embarrassing moment was the "we never lose at Frattan Park" chant. What think twat came up with that?
Think that was just a bit of banter as Charlton were singing it to Portsmouth after equalising in the 96th minute. A few Charlton fans were recording it and whilst doing so Portsmouth scored straight from the kick off. It's on X and is quite funny even the Charlton fans were laughing

I'm not convinced about Wright at Prem level at all but if he sticks around with us to find out I'll be happy enough.

What do you expect people to say about Brau and Wright given the way they've been playing?

I totally agree about derogatory chants or sarcastic cheers at the game because they're totally counter productive but what do you expect people to say on here, they've both been very poor and I don't know what to say to anyone who thinks any different.

Yes, some vitriolic posts, which again, I don't agree with, but most people are just saying how shit they've been.

It’s embarrassing, but not surprising, as some of our fans love a boo boy.

I remember living in Sheffield years ago and taking a mate who is a Middlesbrough fan to watch us play (and beat) Sheff Utd. As the teams were read out a lot of fans booed our left back Paul Edward’s…it was so fucking embarrassing and my mate couldn’t believe our fans booed one of our own players.

Its worse now with social media…if I were a footballer today I wouldn’t bother going on it with all the hate they get.

Which is why some of their performances are so frustrating, particularly Wrights, because we know what they're capable of.
Yes I think this is why I used to get frustrated by Simms so much. Clueless 90% of the time but a monster vs Man Utd and Wolves. Made no sense. Wright rightly deserves similar criticism when he's well off it.

Simms has looked better this season generally than the rest of his time here overall as a player ( whole package )

Alot of scrappy games in this league

I think some of Wrights recent performances have been atrocious.

I saw a couple of things a couple of games in a row going back a few weeks (cant remember which fixtures) and I thought he's ready to go on another streak but he's actually regressed.

He really needs to step up to the plate now, this is a massive few months for the club, we need everyone giving their all

Does he ? Or are fans micro analysing him

I agree he should have scored at charlton , so should liam and jamie allen btw
He should’ve scored against Norwich, Oxford, Sheffield Wednesday, Bristol City, Preston, Southampton (arguably tries to win the pen) and Charlton.

Haji is missing big chances consistently, in big moments, which are proving to be fine margins in games and ultimately costing us points - he’s not alone of course but the frequency in which he is missing big chances is alarming and the onus as our main striker is on Haji to score goals

Add to this he hasn’t scored
since 4th October and in the games he’s featured in since his injury, his overall contribution has been little IMO.

He may have scored a good number of goals overall since his arrival, but his lack of consistency and ability to be effective for us in moments of need has me lacking his suitability for us.

It’s disappointing as someone else posted this morning on this thread potentially, Haji has all attributes to be a really good striker, but whether it’s confidence, ability or mentality, something just isn’t right with him.

I will also say in Haji’s defence, that I think he was rushed back into the starting lineup too soon from injury and that’s on Lampard, Simms had scored five in three starts, he should’ve never been dropped.

Long story short fans need to back him

Wright has been terrible, so I don't really get the blind defence from some. I've seen the 'yeah, but Gyökeres didn't score for X amount of games', but that's almost the point.

In those matches Gyökeres didn't score, he was still bullying defenders and fighting for every scrap. He put up a huge fight. What surprises me is some fans cannot see that with Wright at the moment he is doing the total opposite. He's weak, he loses nearly all his physical battles, headers, and generally looks incapable.

Not sure what's going on with him.

Agree with some but not all , hes not massively underperforming his XG but is still underperfoming ..

He was imvolved in 3 great forward moves for us at charlton , where we should have done better , he is involved but fans are now noticing all the bad stuff first and foremost , which is why its toxoic now

Should have scored 2 at Preston. One was glaring. It happens.

He also git their man sent off. He looked on it that game.
What we as fans think shoild be a goal is often a bit far fetched
. Its never as easy as us armchair fans think

I think he should have done better for the one which hit the side netting at charlton

I was always a defender of Murphy!

As for Wright, I've personally never heard the fans getting on his back and hear his song being sung quite a lot.

Others have mentioned him getting shit at games, and I don't agree with it but if I've not heard it myself, though I don't doubt it happened.
