A good striker obviously scores goals but when he isn’t he doesn’t hold the ball up, 2nd best with any CB, doesn’t assist, doesn’t bring others into play. He’s just a passenger.
Its not like he's even popping up with important goals in times of need either. Like today, under pressure, needing a win, he dissappears.

The last minute Norwich equaliser aside (which hit him more than him actually scoring), he's scored a brace in a 7-1 game, a brace in a 4-0 game, and 1 in a 5-0 game. Hes popping up with goals in games we're coasting in. When we're actually battling and fighting, he just vanishes.

The Blackburn game was probably the first game this season that didnt fully go our way. Yes we won 2-0, but they were really the first team to put us under a bit of pressure and come at us and we've not been the same, full flowing, all out attack playing team since. And funnily enough, Haji hasnt scored since then either. Games get tough, Haji dissappears.

He’s gotta be given chances. Where I agree he looks totally off it - personally I’ve never thought he’s a quality player with the ball anyway, I don’t think he’s a technically gifted player. But he needs proper chances. It’s a different worry if he’s missing several chances but we’ve not been creating much at all in the last few weeks.

Simms played well.
Haji had plenty of ball played to him but displayed the classic case of playdoh couldn’t be bothered waste of oxygen let alone space on a piece of grass ‘quality’ that renders me to hating this bastard as opposed to questioning his selection.
I passionately want to see him hounded out of my club.
PASSIONATELY.
Oh and boy can he find the side netting!
Absolutely c**t!

All a bit harsh. Our players are clearly, all of them, having problems when coming back from injury. But they will, all of them, turn it around. Win at home, draw away, no need to panic just because of Ipswich. Any result against Brum is fine.
It’s not ‘harsh’ at all.
Nobody expected the early form to continue ( I can’t imagine so?)
But to criticise/address/ the current poor form and be pulled up on it is the stuff of the imperious dry under mattress owners club.
There are signs of damp creeping in.

Comparing our all time 11th highest scorer with Jordy Hiwula and Tyler Walker. Amazing scenes.

Me remembering all our old strikers who if they weren’t scoring were saving penalties, wearing the sky blue Sam suit and making half time orange juice…

I get that Vik casts a huge shadow over anyone that followed him but when Haji's off it, he's a hard bloke to like. He's too poor too often for someone that cost what he did and is paid what he's paid.

The sarcastic cheering of him scoring in the warm up was bad enough. Then had to endure idiots on the coach who continued to slag him off. During the game it was constant too.
No wonder he doesn't look arsed when half the away end keep berating him all the time

We should change the title to Gyokeres shite - they both have 40 goals in 91 games.

There is a very good chance that Haji will catch Matty Godden this season but the truth is he's been feeding on the mould that grows on the scraps for quite a while now. It's easy to blame individuals when the side isn't ticking but that's what spoilt entitled kids do!

it’s funny that Wright has been feeding off scraps, yet when ellis plays he manages to find the net

Not saying we don't need those things which would help. However, in a year, we have accrued 92 points. Auto's form with these players.
It is as plain as the nose on a face that our recent form is due to factors that have conspired to make things difficult. Injuries, tiredness, temporary loss of form and a really bad flu bug. They will not last all season unless we are extremely unlucky. We are down to our third choice left back and having to rest EMC who has been our main threat recently.
Some supporters have difficulty looking past last week. People should look at the bigger picture.
Tbh we haven't played well for a few months now, there is a lack of quality that will tell more as opponents have increasingly sussed how to play against our strengths and weaknesses.
Basically keep close to EMC, Saka and Grimes in open play, the rest aren't much of a threat. Thomas at set pieces. Exploit our lack of pace on the break especially over the back of full backs.
We need a real central striker threat, more guile and pace in central midfield and to defend better wide, far too many risks with MVE going forward, trust Saka/Rudoni more.

I don't think many people are blaming Haji for results. I think most people speaking up about him feel his performances are short of acceptable too often, which is not something you would have ever said of Vik, even if he wasn't scoring.

Yes it's nonsense. The Sky commentator picked up on his strong work rate against Ipswich and made special mention of it. Haji needs service from midfield around the box and from the wings. Without Torp on his game we always struggle to do that, going back to last season. He was playing on half way again yesterday just to collect the ball. You can see he's unhappy, which tells me that he's trying his best.

Some of the posts on here the past few games have been utter madness.

I understand they both have their faults, but the threads on Wright and Simms in particular over the years are emotional roller-coasters.
One month they are lauded as the best strikers in the league, and the next they are disgraces to the shirt and should be hounded out of the city

Its fine to discuss ability .. but im not sure saying hes a bastard and a waste of oxygen ( made sure to point that out in his post ) is at all rational

Yes the threads on Simms also really in poor taste

If he still hasn’t learned how to use his body better to shield the ball then he never will. The amount of times defenders can get in front of him with relative ease is infuriating.
