Another thread where people will make themselves look stupid when he hits form again.

Yes he’s frustrating l, yes I’ve thought he wasn’t up to it before.

I was wrong. He’s quality.

So we’re five points clear. Hugely positive goal difference. Individually he’s among the leagues top scorers. Yes, there must be a problem there. Laughable

The fact that he doesn’t score for four or five games and people have this reaction just shows how used people are to him scoring goals

Indeed. Strikers who get 20 odd in this division are pure gold.

I interpreted the way he left the field on Saturday as pure frustration at his own performance - he looked super pissed off with how the game had gone for him.

Players, especially strikers tend to have these streaks. In this patch of poor scoring form I've seen him battling more, coming deep to get the ball and laying on an assist for BTA when many strikers in that situation might keep it all for themselves.

I also think the way we play and the way teams play us is going to take some adjustment for him. He's no longer the spearhead of our attack - there's just not as much space for him to exploit. When he does get chances with space and time to run at someone, he's making the wrong decisions or not executing well. Both of these things will change over time. Getting on his back is just a waste of time. But hey, here we are on a forum of absolutely no consequence to anything chatting bollocks...

For sure! I don't think he was given the assist in the end.

Haji has been fine but without Torp scoring a weekly screamer and BTA purple patch possibly coming to an end we could do with Haji going on one of his goal scoring runs, I’m sure when Rudoni is back in the team he will help unlock him.

Feels crazy to write that about a player who’s scored 8 in 14 but he has the ability.

I did. He often reached out to me over DM when he was on here, and on his last account he gave me his number. He's staying off this site for now.

He is frustrating to watch much of the time because when he is on it, he is one of the best championship strikers (and Premiership quality). However, he is off it far too often. The Stoke performance I think was his worst since Sunderland playoffs. Unfortunately, although I hope he will play well, I don't expect he will.
I was hoping Simms would have come on much earlier against Stoke and wondering why Lampard left Wright on for so long. But there have been previous games where he has looked stronger in the last 10 minutes, often scoring.

In the Championship only Asanti (that bloke that plays for us) and Morris at Derby have scored more than Wright and they have both played one more game than Wright.

I mean Wright must be terrible

Why are people obsessed with Haji goals. They have been tap ins mostly. I couldn’t care less about what he’s scored it’s his general play that’s appalling.

The tap ins, not just Wright, is down to Lampard's coaching. How we play the ball in and how we attack the six yard box as a team and how we have one or two lurking on the edge of the penalty area.

Nobody's play this season has been appalling. I am confident Frank Lampard doesn't see Wright as being appalling either.

Having him and BTA playing centrally just doesn't work. With the exception of the Sheff Weds game he is averaging 1 shot and less than 0.1 xG a game in that setup.

Like his movement creating space for the other front players? Or the fact he is double marked as a top threat that leaves our wingers and Torp with more space? BTA has scored so many as he was less closely marked until recently. Or is it his defensive assistance from set plays that have helped us tighten up at the back?
We are the leagues top scorers by a mile winning a record number of games, but our striker that is already in double figures is shite?
We win as a team. Start removing essential cogs (see Wrexham) and we struggle.

Strolls around more interested in adjusting his shirt and his socks. Doesn’t even contest headers, takes ages coming off when he’s subbed like he’s a god. Went missing in the play offs, goes missing when he’s marked. The bloke is stealing a living like Tyler walker.

Haji goes through a dry spell, and BTA starts scoring.

Haji AND BTA go through a dry spell and now EMC and Sakamoto start scoring.

And now we have Rudini to come into the mix

What's the fucking problem

Its not that he doesnt score for 4 or 5 games that people have an issue with, its that he literally doesnt turn up full stopnfor 4 or 5 games thats the problem. Its all well and good a striker having a dry spell, they all have them, but when he's not scoring goals, what else does he offer to the team?
