Video Gus on the grass. 🌱

I mean that already seems pretty low to me combined with regular exercise and already being overweight. Dropping down nearer to 1500 while doing the rest seems a bit ridiculous.

It's a lot to do with what you eat. Some foods make it easier to burn calories and keep you fuller for longer. Wholegrains are the way to go IMO.

I know from my initial weight loss journey of losing around 6.5 stone in a year what sort of food helps. What I'm struggling with is how low my calories may need to be given that I'm overweight and walking a lot every day.

Perhaps I just tanked my metabolism too much the first time. Anyway, we have a whole OT thread about weight loss, so I'll leave it there.

Congrats on losing the 6.5, that's a lot of weight right there. Have you tried taking up a higher impact form of exercise e.g. 5k-10k runs, cycling?

Might help to change your excersise regime if youre able to.
Some HIT training might kick start your metabolism.
Walking and jogging are great but you definitely hit a point of diminishing returns

With the little guy around now I just struggle to find the time, but I'll be honest if I had the time, I'd still really struggle to find the motivation to just run for its own sake.

1800 is the minimum an adult male needs to function. Any lower and you’ll be baggage. Won’t be able to build muscle either.
Well that depends on how big they are lets be honest.

You could be eating 1800 with 150g protein and grow if you are small.

Yeah true. I was always told take your weight in kg x 13 and you’ll get a good gauge on where you should be at.

I went down to about 1200 calories a day when I hit a plateau in my weight loss. Kept training, running 5k etc, and it seemed to kick start everything back up, went through a stage I was struggling to go a week without losing weight once I returned to normal calorie intake.

I thought the thread title was referring to his Dutch background

Sky blues tv Hamer signing of the summer really???

Amenda
Yirenkyi

Slightly more important

When the inevitable injuries start throughout our season , Gus will turn out to be an excellent addition, to continue our push for Europe
CTID

I thought we stalled a bit when Gus replaced Yirenkyi on Friday.
I thought we had stalled a bit before then. But that is how games go and substitutions aren’t always seamless. Gus had some nice touches but we didn’t really get him on the ball enough.

As much as i love Gus he's not starting over Yirenkyi , Onyeka and Grimes
I thought he might on Friday not because he will always be first choice but because he has experience on his side and this is an important match.. and maybe Caleb needs to do a bit of settling in.

I must admit he looked settled in against Monaco, that first tackle that left the forward sprawled on the floor was something else.

Depends how training goes, but Yirenkyi put in a very mature performance. He seems very aware of what is going on around him, knows when to hold and when he can push up. Very vocal with his team mates. Also can spot danger and is quick to respond. He is also very good at playing off either feet. Nice to have tough decisions.

I said that Hamer was the biggest signing of the window to some people last week and got shut down!

He’s going to be a valuable squad player this season but nothing more imo.
Impact sub, and experienced cover, nothing more.
We know he has exceptional quality, but the PL is way to fast and unforgiving for his level of fitness.
Yirenkyi and Onyeka would probably start more games than Hamer.

Im also interested to see if Grimes can adapt to the pace and quality of the PL.
If he can then I think we will be ok.

That's why I said maybe.. also maybe he fears nothing and nobody and is not overawed by playing in front of a 60,000 and being watched by tens of millions on TV.

Three of Ghana’s World Cup games were 62,000-69,000 with world wide TV coverage. They had one game which was just below 43,000. So no I don’t think he will fear the crowds and tv coverage in the Premier League.

Held is own against England at the world cup, probably won't give a shit about playing at Highbury.
