I personally think there should be retrospective action if a blatant dive won a pen. 5 games is probably a bit much if that’s true but there should definitely be a punishment.

I hate diving, so I've got no problem with this, as long as it's applied to every single player that dives.

And if it's going be applied retrospectively, let's start going through Fulham's and everybody else's videos from last week, and dig out all of their diving too.

In fact, let's start at the Prem, because these are the highest profile teams, and therefore they are the players most likely to bring the game into disrepute through simulation.

Won’t be applied retrospectively in the Premier League because they have VAR

If a premier league player dived to win a free kick in the centre of the pitch for example, this wouldn’t be looked at by VAR would it?

He's better as a keeper, mate...

"Christ Saves!"

"But Keegan gets the rebound!"

Am I the only one who remembers the seventies?

In St Nicholas Park, before colour tv, the changing rooms had 'Jesus saves and Chivers nets the rebounds'

As my cousin Bruce was a then Spurs football yob, and one of only a couple living in Warwick - I can now safely accuse him of the graffiti in the knowledge that there is probably a statute of limitation for the crime, and he is too old now to catch me and beat me up for the accusation.

Ah, this did make me laugh. I'm also relieved that it wasn't something that I'd just made up!

Cheers mate, hope you and your cousin (edit, not brother, sorry!) are both well, pity he went to the dark side, but then you had the last laugh in 87.

quite a popular quote back in the old days, I remember Southampton supporters having placards with it on about Mick Channon

Didn't we have a version in the 90s ? "Jesus Saves. But Andy Pearce puts it into his own net" ?
