Not to mention Sunderland. Another lot still obsessed about us

Yeah they do dislike us, as do Sheffield United and Leicester.

Worth pointing out I’m not on Twitter so generally won’t see anything the smooth brains on there say.

Also both Sheffield United and Sunderland seem to be disliked by a disproportionately large number of other fanbases.

I don’t dislike Sunderland - have some Mackem friends, they’re always very funny in regards to football though!

I'm just enjoying the greatest season in my 28 years of supporting this club and celebrating it with all of the friends I've made through it. I honestly couldn't give a rat's ass what other fans think or say about my beloved Coventry City
Then you obviously didn't read about what they said about you & your mates.

It would make a docker blush!

I quite like Sunderland; they're loyal to their local team (if a bit weird about it) and how much we get under their skin is funny.

The majority of them are fair-minded supporters, I think.

I think the general opinion of us gets overblown by a few loud mouths from each club on Twitter. Plus our resident twitter weirdos spouting shit 24/7 on there probably don’t help how many see us. Think general opinion is it’s good to see us/Boro doing better than the parachute sides and also Leeds/Sunderland holding their own up in the prem. Good to see with the right investment it’s not impossible to be competitive.

Was thinking about the Championship this year, although there definitely isn't a team like Leeds or Burnley last year, robotically dispatching teams at ease. It doesn't mean it's a worse league for it. I actually think bar the parachute clubs under performing the standard of everyone else is more competitive.

With Birmingham and Wrexham part of the league 1 promoted teams has meant less strugglers than usual. Only Sheffield Wednesday really cut adrift now and pretty much everyone capable of pulling a performance out of the bag. That must be a factor in the likes of Saints, Ipswich and Sheffield U not being consistent this year.

We should be really proud at what we have achieved in a really competitive league.

Anyone else who reads a lot of other club forums cant have helped notice a new hatred from some towards us. There seems to be a number of fan bases who seem to have green eyed envy and a particular hatred towards lampard.
constant comments like
its the poorest championship in years.
cant wait for us to get battered in the Prem and Lampard to get the sack
Cov are shit and no where as good as boro or Ipswich
we are only top because weve spent millions on players 😂
Lampard is a shit manager
fat Frank
Cov are just lucky this season
TBF you can find most of that on this forum 😏

I always find this one funny.
Hear or read it at least twice a week..
If it were the case, the parachute teams would be walking over everyone.
Id say the truth is the opposite, thanks to disney soccer Ltd and more chimneys than fans, the teams coming up spent hard, the teams coming down rested on their laurels a bit too much.
It's made this years championship tighter with a lot more upsets.
I wouldn't say its poor because of it, if anything its better.

Agree with this.

The only difference between this and other years is that there haven't been parachute teams walking over everybody.

Ipswich took a bit of time to get going, Southampton came down only knowing how to lose, and Leicester are a genuine basket case.

I don't get the Lampard hatred either. To me he has always come across as intelligent and thoughtful, and also as quite humble and complimentary....certainly more than Robins who could be quite chippy.
Why do they keep calling him fat Frank out of interest. He was a word class athlete and even now he is probably fitter and slimmer than the majority of the fans who call it him. I can guarentee the majority of them by 3xl football shirts and iron them over a wok

It's standard.
It can't be because we've got things right, they can't have that, so it must be because we are lucky or because they have been unlucky.
Meh

Football fans are just childish in the main (and that includes City fans)

Every club thinks their team is too "soft".
Every club thinks they get a rough deal on penalties awarded.
Every club thinks a few people bad-mouthing them on the dregs of social media means everyone hates them.
Every club thinks other fans are "obsessed" and "trying to create a rivalry"

Think he was first called “Fat Frank” when he came through the West Ham academy by West Ham fans.

That was a generally dislikable England squad that epitomised entitled excess for many.

And Chelsea; dirty money, excess, John Terry.

Lampard's an intelligent man, and there doesn't seem anything dislikable about him personally, but he'll be tainted by association for many.
Yes - but did you know Christine hates it when he washes his hands as he splashes water everywhere!
(great insight from today's Express)

there is loads more but there are certain clubs who clearly have a jealous hatred towards us namely Stoke, Shef Utd, Ipswich not to mention Leicester that was never there before except Leicester who seem obsessed with us. This seems to happened since Lampard came so is this about a hatred of Lampard and that he is doing well or is just jealousy that we as a team are top of the league. I also think that this has been reflected on the pitch with clubs out to prove a point against us because we are top its like we have a target on our backs
This literally sounds like our forum come season end when we end up not going up tbf

Just watched Bejamin Bloom and he has just mentioned this very thing with the amount calling our win lucky yesterday because of the last minute goal when they clearly didnt see the full game.

Kind of the opposite for me, I think we are relatively well liked (or at least seem so to me online and in person) and seen lots of fans of most other clubs wishing us well.

Only the odd few Champ clubs that seem to dislike us on the whole.
Agree with this. I expect there is some dislike of Lampard simply because he was a great player (just like Rooney gets stick (including on here). Bit of paranoia on here, I think…… I do read other club’s forums after a game to get a different perspective and although there is the usual bias, I don’t see masses of hatred. The boro forum is one of the best, appears to be very balanced with not much vitriol.

Lampard was mocked on here by some - one in particular- every time he lost at Chelsea and Everton

I think Frank has put up with crap all throughout his career. He got shite early on as he was seen as a bit of a nepobaby. Thing is he had the skill to prove his actual worth.

The fat stuff was just weird.

Niche side note TFTM pod use Lamparding (being a bit of a Lampard) as an adjective for anyone who is a acting a bit of a nimby or grass. Stems from him loosing his rag when Bielsa sent spies to Derbys training ground prior to their playoff game against Leeds. It's harsh but that pod is pretty funny.

Yeah i know a few people who support the big prem clubs, Utd /Liverpool etc and they've been cheering us on all year and would love us to get back up.

The argument we've been lucky is ludicrous, we've won most points at home and away, top scorers and best goal difference. We're top because we've been better than everyone else over 35 games.
Its lucky because we have the best manager.
Its lucky because we have the best owner
Its lucky because we have a sell out stadium
Its lucky because we have the best squad
Its lucky because we've scored more goals
Its lucky because we are top of the league.

So yea, lucky cunts arnt we 😍
