Just been reading the gills forum and their not happy that we've recalled Cody. One of them has even stated that Cody didn't want to come back

Who cares what they think! That's why it's called a Loan, we loan them Cody and then we look to make something of Cody in this case upon his return!

Do you think they are like this with Bank Loans? Get given the money and then get annoyed that they have to pay it back?

Exactly.

Unless you're SISU of course, whereby you are entitled to everything you want, for free, just for the asking. Failure to provide this immediately, of course, is simply pig-headed intransigence.

It makes a nice change for us to be benefitting instead of losing a player.
Lets just hope Cody carries on scoring and not sulking if he didn't want to return. By the sounds of their fans they may look to come back to buy him in the summer

TBH I wouldn't be surprised if Cody didn't want to come back. Nearer his home (and apparently he was a bit homesick here), scoring goals, in the team, still getting the same wage.

Can't blame him really.

to be fair he was kissing their badge when he scored, he probably didn't wanna come back

He hasn't been treated well here. Whether that's deserved because of attitude or not we don't know. But there's no doubt he knows how to find the net better than anyone else at the club quite possibly, so we need to give him a go and hope his confidence continues because there's no doubt on his day he is a difference maker.

Question is, will celebrate when he scores against the Gills next year?

Mind you, a bad closing run and 10 points off for ACL might mean that we won't meet the Gills next year.

Sorry about that - I've toothache at the moment.

How has he not been treated well? He's got a pretty atrocious scoring record, especially put in the context of those that followed him, i.e.

McGoldrick 18 goals in 25 starts

Clarke 8 goals in 13 starts

That said, I hope that he comes back a different player but have my doubts.

Ridiculous. Not treated well! He has been unfit nearly of his time here. Eastwood type attitutude and a dire scoring record above league two.

He lacks desire and heart. He should be told in no uncertain terms he has until the end of the season to shape up and start to pay back the £1 million plus we have already wasted on him.

Strange bunch those Gills fans, all seem gutted that he's leaving yet they say he'll be shit for us anyway and will end up back at Gillingham. Make your mind up.

Mmmm, football fans are birds of a feather, aren't they: DMG and Ipswich.

Silly Gills fans, they dont understand the concept of a loan. To be fair, They KNEW this would happen if he scored goals for them because of that clause. Hes a Coventry City employee. End off

So if he goes back to gills and they get promoted he's going to cut in their team in league one. Seems farcical

He only went their to gain confidence and to play in week in and week out. He's come back here because our mcds taste nicer in coventry for some strange reason.

From what I remember of him, the Gills can keep him. ;)

Oh dear, what a pity, never mind (The wise words of Al Murray) Who cares what they think? He's our player. They should think themselves lucky we let them have him for that long in the first place. WAAAAAAAAY too good for them
