Who from the 87 side was there? I saw Oggy, Gynn, Bennett, Houchen, Killer, Phillips and (I think) Rodger in the various video clips online. Anyone else?

My vantage point wasn't 'ringside' but Joe Elliott on his pre unveil speech did mention 'Bugsy' although I didn't see him.
When I got closer to the statue I did see Trevor Peake and I think Paul Culpin.

Looks magnificent. Think the Jimmy Hill statue needs a larger, more grandiose plinth now though as looks a bit tinpot in comparison. Think it's positioning was always a bit of a dart lobbed wearing a blindfold too! Very random.

Superb. Outstanding even.

If the next statue isn’t one of Liam Kelly and his famous bulge, then I’m not renewing my season ticket.
Interactive statue doubling as the barrier to the car park.

Just got to decide where you have to insert the card to make the barrier rise up.

It's Dave Kay and The Mad Hatters now!

I know David Kay from the Mad hatters get some stick on here, but fair dues to him, at the game today I read all the names on the plinth and his name was on there, the only people that are on there are those who donated 500 pounds and over.

They threatened all the kids on the busses to donate their pocket money and raise the £500. I also thought I saw one if them stealing from a homeless blokes hat, but turned out it was just one of them getting ready for the game.

I was in a bar today in Pompey near where I work and I was wearing a Cov training top. Some older gent walks past me and says 'oh, a Cov fan...you'll know my dad then'.

I was like 'I'm pretty sure I don't but who's your dad?'.

'John Sillett'.

No way! We didn't chat for long but he said he was at the unveiling and was proud. I was with a colleague at the time and told him that I felt like I had just met royalty.

Nice bloke.

If it'd been me I could have replied "actually, yes I did know him!"

Used to bump into him in Tesco cannon park quite often when I was a small kid. I was quite overawed but he was always lovely and chatted to loads of people.

Saw the name Ian Wright was on there. Former Crystal Palace and Arsenal striker turned loudmouth pundit? Or another Ian Wright.
