Gathering for Tommy / Discontent

[Nick]

Besides, if I was really going to want to kick off and cause trouble I wouldn't write a time, date and place id actually be..

The scale they are talking is military level.

Maybe that's just me.

[pusbccfc]

I don't get why the police and intelligence services aren't saying much to calm it?

There are police giving interviews like they are gearing up for a war.

What have they heard?

Some are locally. I've seen Essex and Humberside already tweeting that they've heard rumours already but nothing has happened.

[Grendel]

Must have missed it. So what was it? Yes or no?

Why do you persist in this playground nonsense?

Are you 5?

I believe in freedom of speech providing it does not breach legal boundaries- I assume as a libertarian and a democrat you think the same - yes or no?

[Nick]

Some are locally. I've seen Essex and Humberside already tweeting that they've heard rumours already but nothing has happened.

I just don't get how or why the police and intelligence would be letting the media get the nation worked up.

[AFCCOVENTRY]

There’s a whole misinformation war going on.

Hyped by social media and sensationalist media. It’s nuts.

[Nick]

Exactly, this is what I don't get.

You would hope the police and intelligence services would know a hell of a lot.

What do they think the threat is? (I'm not saying there isn't one). Its just the way it's going on in the media is like there's going to be an invasion or something.

Surely the police should be trying to calm things a little bit?

[Gynnsthetonic]

Dumb. Thick as pigshit.

Is that all you can come back with, I've tried a constructive answer and you come back with that.
Dumb and thick as pigshit

[Sick Boy]

That's what I thought until I turned on the news and saw towns being boarded up and staff at out of town retail parks being sent home at 3pm.

If anything they’ll want to try and get the football on for a bit of a distraction.

[Gynnsthetonic]

if it is about any of these things then why are they attacking people and communities that had nothing to do this this?

your argument is weak

It's not an argument you stupid twat, I gave some reasons why I think the country as started the disorder. Are you blind as well as thick

[skybluetony176]

Why do you persist in this playground nonsense?

Are you 5?

I believe in freedom of speech providing it does not breach legal boundaries- I assume as a libertarian and a democrat you think the same - yes or no?

Do you believe freedom of speech means freedom from consequences? Yes or no?

[Nick]

Is it just me or are all of the people arrested so far (and all over the news) looking like they are crack heads?

[MalcSB]

Must be that 2 tier policing that the snowflakes are crying about at the moment.

Thats not policing.

[skybluetony176]

It's not an argument you stupid twat, I gave some reasons why I think the country as started the disorder. Are you blind as well as thick

You mean excuses. Reason insinuates that there’s some logic to shitting on your own doorstep. There isn’t.

[Grendel]

Do you believe freedom of speech means freedom from consequences? Yes or no?

Tonester do you believe people posting on a Football forum should have an interest in football. Yes or no?

[tisza]

Can't they just use dispersal orders like they did when they started the crackdown on football hooliganism? Or are the numbers too big?

[clint van damme]

Just heard a report saying some areas have a reduced retail footfall of 20%.
That's going to hit an already struggling sector very hard

[Ccfcisparks]

Tonester do you believe people posting on a Football forum should have an interest in football. Yes or no?

There wont be a response to this

[Grendel]

At least it will give Reeves an excuse when she fails in her growth strategy

[skybluetony176]

Tonester do you believe people posting on a Football forum should have an interest in football. Yes or no?

Clearly too difficult a question to answer. The answer is of course no. Ask Laurence Fox.

[Nick]

You mean excuses. Reason insinuates that there’s some logic to shitting on your own doorstep. There isn’t.

This is the issue, people don't want to discuss or debate.

Was an interesting interview where a bloke just started going on about Andrew Tate and saying racist over and over when the woman was asking him questions.

All it does is try to shut down any discussion.

Fair comment

I still don't get what intelligence they have or what they are expecting to allow the media to be whipping it up all day.

To quote Jessie from Toy Story 2, "if the boot fits".

I mean saying it’s because this crime, that crime or another crime was committed isn’t a reason to distract the police from dealing with those crimes by rioting. It’s an excuse, there’s no logic applied in coming to a conclusion that stretching an already overstretched police by rioting is somehow an answer. They’re just thugs, thugs who will always find a cause to latch on to justify violent outbursts, something that they very much have in common with terrorists whether that be catholic, Protestant, Islam or whatever. Some people are just drawn to violence.

[tisza]

Problem is any discussion or debate these days very quickly seems to resort to someone being called some kind of "ist" or "phobe". Plus reasonable debate or discussion doesn't create "good television". Media companies want the fireworks.

Gordon Gault killer Natty Lawson to be freed early as prisons too full

Stabbed teenager's mum slams justice system as she is told manslaughter convict Natty will be back on the streets next month

www.chroniclelive.co.uk

Ironic that scum like this are being released from prison early to house the scum rioters, its what the rioters are rioting about in the first place. Nonsensical in my view.
Handing out machetes to his his mates to carry out murder.
I am in know way condoning the riots for certain people's relevance

If they are then they need to be willing to pay much more tax to fund things like the prison service and probation as austerity means it all goes to shit

[Grendel]

Don’t worry. Reeves will ensure there is far more austerity to come

I agree, it's in no way justification for people acting like cunts.

However all it tries to do is kill any constructive discussion with people who do have issues who don't feel they get listened to.

There will be hundreds of thousands of people with the same issues but just aren't cunts going out to smash things up or think that setting fire to hotels is any way acceptable.

[Nick]

Apparently the police approached businesses at the ricoh and told them about a planned riot there so they are closing early.

It just sounds very weird.

[baldy]

It just reminds me of the 2011 riots tbf

[shmmeee]

Needs more police more prisons and more probation officers. Sick of this shit on all sides. These twats, kids with knives, just the general shittiness. Fund a proper police force in cities and crack down on this as well as behaviour in schools. Will mean sending a lot to prison tho in the first place until people get the message.

Couple it with some Denmark style tough integration expectations.

[Nick]

Maybe it's the fact news and social media has changed since then. It reminds me of COVID times.

[tisza]

I see Carlisle and Lincoln just issued them.

“riot” at a shopping park. Not even pretending it’s anything other than shoplifting now. And the usual numpties in this thread are desperate to make it something about their hobby horse. It’s a bunch of kids shoplifting and that’s it.
