Fleck has played a lot less and most of his appearances have came from the bench

He's scored one goal in open play.

Why the fook with the great season we are having are we having a pop at our local lad, longest serving player who gives his all every game

I'd love to see sheffers at Wembley in sky blue and he'd love it just as much.

Pick on somebody else who doesn't give a shit about cov except they pay their wages

I don't dislike Mcsheffrey either, and would obviously like him to do well.
But I feel he has under performed for us, not because he isn't as good as he was before he went to the Blues, but because i feel he should be doing a lot better than he is.

Interesting how people outside of Coventry really rate him. The Oldham fans and Sky reporters at the Preston game for example. He attracts markers giving other players time and space and at this level has the ability to leave a lot of defenders on their arses when cutting in. He pulled Doncaster apart at their place and did their centre halts with his pace. Just for try getting behind the players and look at the positives rather than the negatives all the time. PUSB

seems some have got to have some to pick on

Mac seems to be a threat for 35 mins with some superb assists, then just goes into backtracking mode which he is not the best at

that said he is always a worry to other sides

Fleck........superb passing ability ......at times, then also looks like a sunday league player slow to recognize players closing him down and easily pushed off the ball

"Gives his all" what a load of cobblers. My problem with Sheff is that as a local lad he should be working harder than the rest, instead he strolls around, refuses to track back and intentionally stays away from play when we don't have the ball.

The guy is a selfish coward who has ability above this division and should have the passion but instead plays for himself.

I rest my case.

Ridiculous always tracking back but a crap tackler , no doubt you will say he always gives free kicks away in dangerous areas that he doesn't get back to cover

Just out of interest where do players have to be born to work harder. CV1 I assume how about CV34? Where is the boundary when they can take a back seat? It's a real dumb statement that I'm afraid.

I dont think there are MANY fans who dislike him. I think he is getting better as the season progresses.

The area he needs to improve on is his shooting. Against tranmere 4 mins in he does not hit the target on a 1 on 1. Thats the disapointing bit.

Has my support anyway. Never have a go at your own, espicially in a winning team.

Mcsheffrey has been decent this season and currently I would say deserving of his place, however for an ex prem player he should look a cut above this league and often doesn't

mcsheffrey has been workmanlike with glimpses of skill this season

hes doing ok but people need to be balanced with him...he doesnt deserve as muchc riticism as he gets but when he plays the bad his nuthuggers need to be able to admit it

especially when same people will lay into fleck for every little thing.

Watch him.

I've done it the last two home games. All first half against Oldham he was doing it, obviously got a telling off at HT. he strolls back then marks space. Maybe makes a halfhearted lunge if the ball comes near him.

Compare him to Baker or Moussa in terms of work rate. Against Preston (I think) it meant we were virtually playing without him when we lost the ball, he left Adams 2/3 on 1 several times and let them crowd out the midfield.

This team isn't good enough to coast, we need every player working for 90 mins or we risk defeat. I annoys me that the vast majority of players have recognised this but Sheffers still feels its below him.

Also: count how many times he tries to beat a man or take a shot when a pass is the better option. The guy thinks he's some kind of CCFC superstar and he's lucky to even have a starting place. Typical Premiership City Youth Team attitude.

Exhibit b - Baker. Does the exact same thing. But works harder so it's ok.

The 2 lads who sit behind me CONSTANTLY battle each other about their divided opinion of mcsheffery. A few games back they started keeping score on how many good things he did to how many bad. When somebody actually points out every step right or wrong a player makes it really does stand out & needless to say. Week in week out his bad points are always treble his good.

It's true that other teams still have respect for McSheff, certainly the Sky Blue Player commentators for the opposition mark him as one of our danger men (I switch over to get a break from Clive occasionally), but I can't help thinking that they are worried about his former reputation rather than current form. On his day he can still turn it on in patches and he is a delight to watch, but the biggest criticism I have is that he is still looking for the glory shot, the 35 yarder that bursts the net, when we could have a hatful of better chances with a lay off to a better placed team-mate. When he hits it right he's got a hell of a shot, but he has to realise that it's a team game, not the GM Show.
To be honest, I think that Robins is trying to get that message through and there are signs that he is listening, but time will tell.

It is interesting that the 2 players you hate the most are from the city.

stop telling outright lies

i do not hate any player and mcsheffrey would be nowhere near that list if i did have one

what evidence have you got to say i hate mcsheffrey? ive reffered to him as the messiah at times for crying out loud.

back up your lies.

Fair enough. But can you stop being such a drama queen.

Can be frustrating to watch but such is the position and player he is. Sheff is starting to play his better football since his return to the club so hopefully with a bit more tweaking from Robins I think he could come good again. Like other people have mentioned he attracts the attention of the other teams players which creates gaps for others
