He’s obviously made a difference but thought last night was a below par performance (other than the goal).

He gave the ball away multiple times in dangerous areas, gifted them a 1v1 and gave it away in the lead up to the pen too. Wouldn’t get away with it in the prem.
I thought he was poor last night, especially in the last 20 minutes of the first half, (still scored though) but that's hardly surprising considering hed just got back into the UK following international duty.

I did predict that he and Dasilva would be rested, so it was asking a lot for both to get through another tough game.

I'd think there will be changes for the Hull game, but its hard to second guess Lampard's selections.

He's been a fantastic signing, just what we needed and brilliant pick up by the recruitment team. He's really helped us kick on, I don't think things would be so comfortable right now if we didn't get him, thats for sure.

It would be so handy if we could secure the promotion/title as early as possible and use the remaining games to get a proper look at the likes of KKH, Markelo and even Woolf
I agree. Surprising how little time KKH has been given, he doesn't always seem to have defensive discipline but he's showed signs of offering something a bit different when given a chance.

Yea but we’re a Championship side. Well see what the fee is but I’m not convinced he’s a good signing for next season from what I’ve seen so far tbh.

if it's what's reported (£8m) then I think that's decent for a CM that can be part of a newly promoted EPL squad. Not sure he's good enough for a first choice XI.

Agree but I do think he will be good enough, he didnt suit Brentfords style of play, however I can see us looking to play physical and counter attacking football

I absolutely love him. Athletic, covers ground so quickly and got flashes of real top quality. I actually thought he was unusually sloppy in possession a couple of times last night though, maybe due to International travelling/being away, the back pass when he put them through end of first half, lost ball before pen and once or twice nearly dropped us in it.

Having said that the goal showed all his qualities. The harrying to win ball, the pass, determination to receive return ball and finish (I thought he meant it but guess we’ll never know). What a signing !
Esse stroked pass to him was just begging to be hit and he obliged

Grimes and Rudoni are clearly players Lampard thinks a lot of, both of them will be first choice next season
Agreed to an extent. Grimes is a leader and I personally see his role shaping up to be like Kelly’s when we got promoted to the Championship.

If we’re serious about staying up next season then we need to spend £70-100m on players all over the pitch. The profile of players will need to change too because we’re probably going to a lot more counter attacking.

Rudoni definitely has what it takes to make the step up, Grimes has the technical skills and intelligence but sceptical of his physicality.

We will definitely sign a CM or 2 in the summer to reflect that.

Gyokeres aside, who was not only unreal but who's sale plus subsequent add ons enabled us to get the core of this team together

I am struggling to think of a more important signing we have ever made
Best £8m investment we've ever made - who knows how we'd have done without him, but 8 wins in 9 when he's played, speaks volumes.
£8m spent and £150m likely return - nice

I saw one replay at the perfect angle that showed him swinging his foot at it. 100% a shot

I think the hype in this thread about him is ludicrous. He’s the bottom end of what we’ll need next season and a very limited player at that level. If he wasn’t we wouldn’t have been able to sign him while in the Championship. Someone in the match thread said he’s ten times as good as Hamer FFS.
He was their first signing when they reached the Prem. He was a great signing and played a big part of them staying up. Over the last few years they've been getting a lot of money and spending it. They think nothing of spending multiples of what he cost.

Onyeka might have slipped down the rankings with them, but it doesn’t mean he is now not good enough. You should have seen his quality by now.
