“an eye for goal?” He’s scored less than 20 his entire career v
I was seduced by seeing the goals on those videos, I think they must show about half his career goals. :ROFLMAO:

O'Hare was our last real ball winner. Hes always looked a bit scrappy, but always had a knack for coming out of 50-50s with the ball and finding a pass. Its something we've really lacked since hes gone. Under pressure he'd be the type to pick the ball up on the edge of our box, scrappily carry it 45 yards and win a free kick on the edge of theirs. Always looked clumsy doing it, but just found a way of coming away with the ball somehow still at his feet.

Haven't seen any stats but, thought Callum was all those things before his injury, then was not so effective for us in doing those things.
Appears to be better this season with Sheff U.

We need a bit more in the middle as we are looking vulnerable when opposition press forward. A player that can break this up or disrupt the flow.

Don’t think Grimes would get dropped but on recent showings he should be if we had an alternative.

Don’t think he should even get dropped on tonight’s showing to be honest. Still had the bit between his teeth even though it clearly wasn’t going well for him.

I do however think having some “legs” next to him in a double pivot to help see a game out / be more defensive would be a good idea. He’s not the quickest / most mobile.

You lot wash your mouthes out Grimes has played a massive role in the wins this year - hopefully a few more days will help him recover - you can’t drop him ! At this stage
We had the best part of two weeks without a game and he was below par against Leicester as well.

No-one's denying he's been fantastic pretty much since he arrived and been a big part of us stepping up a level, but he's still human. If we keep playing him as much as we have this season, his performances are only likely to get worse, not better.

I am ok with that 😁

The longer this one drags on, it makes me wonder if we have any legitimate interest or if it’s agent talk considering our position.

@Voice of brentford have you heard anything on your end?
Annoyingly, (but smartly), we do all our business undercover. I would like to say the less noise the better as it means his agent doesnt need to make up more noise. I reckon he is negotiating with a club now, no clue on who it is, however.

Didn’t realise he’s never been a starter for Brentford even in their first season up. 3k minutes total across 5 seasons.

From what I can see:
Season 1: Regular starter to begin, went to Afcon in Jan then got injured and missed rest of the season
Season 2: Starts Brentford's toughest games against the big teams, subbed on in most of the others
Season 3: Goes through cycles of bench then starting, goes off to Afcon, cycle of bench-starting-bench begins again
Season 4: Went out on loan to the Bundesliga

Seems like they like to bring him on 10/15 to go fresh legs

For us today i feel like 3000 premier league minutes in a position of need would be valuable

Just an eye on next season. Maybe a loan would be better. Seems like they brought him in as quite a young g lad and he’s not quite hit PL levels.
