It hasn't been reported that it will? It'll still be hugely damaging for most though nonetheless.

All reports have consistently said that worst case scenario would be the number of clubs folding could reach potentially reach double figures without a Premier League bailout.

It's a short term fix and perhaps kicking the can down the road, but if the EFL secured a bailout, this would at least provide clubs with time.

Sorry, I was responding to Saddlebrains who said it will kill clubs off. I said in relation to one club mentioned, that it likely wouldn't, that's all.

Totally agree that it's a major issue for the majority of professional sports teams across all sports though. No easy solution. I can see players having to take pay cuts across the board though to help.

It’s a positive piece of spin. technically he’s correct but omits associated income streams and the fact that there is an extraordinary item which account for 20% of revenue

It doesn’t even take 10 minutes and I doubt a finance officer would be as dismissive of potentially wiping £1.5m income off a years income against a lower total this year

Although I think the chairman is putting a positive spin on the situation and being a bit economical with the truth with no fans in you would probably see an increase in subscriptions to ifollow etc to offset slightly, but obv nowhere near making up what'd be lost in revenue.

Also, matchday costs would be reduced as less need for stewarding/policing etc and you wouldn't be employing the F&B staff or whatever or buying in the food etc to start with or paying for the electrics to run them etc, but still would be a significant hole in revenues.

There's 1,000s in the industry who have lost their jobs because of those. I get your point in relation to Wasps but I was one who lost their job from the hospitality industry because of this and have seen many, many good people lose their jobs as well.

No worries. I've since set up my own business working with football clubs and their accommodation requirements and it's going ok so far with a couple of clubs on the books. Everything happens for a reason right?! I've just seen so many good friends who are great at their jobs, lose them in the last couple of months and it's hard to see.

Good luck tomorrow....like I said, everything happens for a reason so if the end result isn't what you want, don't panic, take stock and grab the bull by the horns.

In fairness to G he's not posting a conspiracy theory, he's posting from the published accounts. Even if ticket income in the most recent year is still only a relatively small % of turnover, I'd bet a decent sum that the rest of it is for other activities that are or have been subject to restriction due to covid.

It was more the battle of a man with Google vs a man who’s literal job it is to know this stuff. We all know accounts don’t tell the whole story but are created by accountants to tell a particular story.

Not only that, they could've meant that they had budgeted for it accounting for 15% of expected revenues for the forthcoming season, taking into account whatever assumptions they were making at the time.

Suspect their is a belief among those deciding which events can start bring back crowds that football fans can't be trusted to do as they are told.

To be fair pretty much every games its a struggle to get people to use the seat on their ticket or not stand up in all seater grounds, that track record isn't going to help.
