Bloody hell, he must be desperate.

Good appointment for us though, our best manager in at least the last 10 years.

Is McGoldrick still playing or retired as we could have him back? Even a retired McGoldrick would be better than the Yak.

Makes you wonder; why now? Why not when we appointed Slade if he was that interested in coming back? Who knows, had we got him, we might be a point or two closer to safety

Still at Ipswich but injury prone, would fit in nicely here

I'd be happy with him coming back. Didn't leave in the best way but he was good while he was here and I've got no time for crying about the past. A good manager is a good manager.

If the length of contract is until the end of next season, it at least indicates some form of pragmatism and plan from above.

It allows him to observe and make decisions on the existing squad and also get the wheels moving on potential new recruits for next season.

I also much prefer our odds at Wembley with him in charge, as opppsed to Slade. Ineffective long ball at Wembley for the only match we have to cheer about all season would have been incredibly disappointing.

If it is Robins, have SISU made some promises to him for next season? Since he left us he has pulled no trees. I dont like this move sadly.

From memory I think he was on loan at Scunthorpe from Charlton, his loan ended and Robins got in and signed him up

He was only on loan at Scunthorpe, Charlton let him go for free as they didn't want him

It puzzles me that we are still in the death grip of SISU and yet Robins appears to be coming back under that same circumstances which made him jump ship in the first place. I'd like him to give it a second go but unless there are circumstances that we're not party to I can't see him wanting to come back.

The more I think about it the more I think there has to be something else going on. Clearly he's not just going to come in for the last few games and take us to the inevitable relegation. With that in mind why would he come to manage a L2 club working on a shoestring under SISU? He can't be that desperate for a job.

We got him in on loan initially and then signed him permanent. He was on loan to Scunthorpe.

I've heard him coming back is written into Bigis contract for when he played 29 games.

I wouldn't have thought he's desperate financially but I think it's like an addiction.
Hopefully it is part of something bigger.

Just for the record his stats at Huddersfield and Scunthorpe are about the same as mowbrays here over his whole tenure. Not great but hardly a disaster.

Whilst I think it is too late to save this season I feel genuinely optimistic at the thought of the return of MR. I hope the contract is at least 18 months.

Who were Robins' backroom staff last time he was here? Anyone remember?

Oggy with his clipboard is obviously a given of course.

No it was home in a 1 nil defeat against Shrewsbury. I believe both he and mcgoldrick played together for the only time.

Am I the only one completely confused by this? One of the main drivers for him leaving was the off field issues, which have only worsened since he left.

What am I missing?

Personally though I'd take him back, especially compared to the others in the betting....

You're missing the fact he hasn't got a job......

He did indeed. He was marginally offside. And yes, what a brilliant night that was.

It was funny when Moussa did the same to them at their own ground, by scoring the equaliser in the last minute, after 7 added-on.

No he came when Shaw was here. Waggott signed him and there was a strong suggestion that the player wouldn't come if thorn was in charge. Thorn was sacked and in he came. Thorn tried and failed to convince him to come when we were in the championship.
