His future here is looking incredible fragile .

Haji today for me atleast showed that in a frank lampard system you need to have the lot which includes being good in the air , good at holding the ball up and good bringing others into play and can score goals .. he can also run at defences .

Haji had it all today

The ball simply doesn't stick to ellis and I think his limited passing ability Along with his inability to really bring others in would suggest he isnt fancied at all and might never really be under frank

He needs to play in a side that will put the ball in the box to his feet consistently

Does ellis want to be on the bench week in week out ? I dont think so at all .
Yep we need him gone and to allow Lampard to recruit a centre forward of his own. If Wright were to pick up an injury, the drop off to Simms is off a cliff frankly.

I genuinely dont want to slag him off and thats not at all what im doing here , I just want to discuss his future because its becoming increasingly obvious frank isnt a fan

He's a likable fella who's been responsible for some great moments over the last few seasons but its gone badly wrong for him unfortunately.

Hopefully he can move on restart his career elsewhere.

Half expected Obikwu to come on ahead of him, which really would have signalled an end to his CCFC career.

He is a useful option off the bench I guess.

Though Rudoni gave him a bollocking for not pressing hard enough just minutes after coming on.

The exact sort of mentality we need. Love it. Haji ran his arse off today.

It’s criminal how bad his first touch is for a professional footballer, even more so that in the whole time he’s been here it hasn’t seemed to improve.

We’ve seen he can score goals, some of them have been pretty special but as it’s been alluded too he doesn’t seem to have confidence in his own ability. Baffled how he’s made it to this level tbh.

Just don’t think he’s up too or will ever be up for it. Problem is he’s likely on high wages and unlikely to have many who will take him off our hands.

He just doesn’t seem happy here tbh. He’s always been quiet but he seems to have gone proper into his shell and he’s never going to get going on the pitch like that. I like him a lot, but if the manager doesn’t and he’s lost his mojo maybe it’s best for all if he does go.

I will say, only Haji Wright has a better MPG than him so far this season. When he’s on the pitch he does score at a reasonably regular rate for a second striker.

We need him gone, but the reality is we spent good money on him and hes on big wages (by our standard) so who's going to take him off our hands?

I fear we are stuck with him till his contract expires. (June 2027)

He is the elephant in the room atm, the odd one out. We might have to take a decent sized hit to move him on.

Not sure it is a decent sized hit. What did he cost us? 3 mil?
Contributed massively to the FA Cup run which must have been money spinner and had a couple of decent spells,(which may have triggered add ons), but if we can get rid I'm not sure it would be as costly as you think.

Tbh I have no idea what add ons he would have hit so it's guess work. Was he £3.5 up front? Must have hit something surely so we can probably say £4.5 ballpark. Reckon we'd do well to get £2.5m atm personally, but then we did just get that for Binks so fuck knows, maybe we'll pull a rabbit out the hat.

At this point I'd give him away and save the wages. Not trying to be snide but it's just not happening for him.

Fuck sake stop moaning on a day like today. He's a backup, he wasn't bad today when he came on, the game was done . He's had purple patches with us so could find form again. If he goes then fair enough but we'd take a loss

Stop moaning? Yet on a day like today you decided to start a devisive thread like this:

I don’t really see the urgency to sell him unless he’s agitating to leave - we wouldn’t get a great price for him at the moment and whoever we replaced him with would also have to be content with being a backup. Our striker options are perfectly adequate for a system with only one centre forward, and we score goals for fun anyway.

Fair point(s) to be honest

I think it’s more the rumours he’s a top earner when that wage could be spent on other areas.

Not many teams would pay the wage we do on a backup striker.
