All this recent bollocks about Simms, and not a single suggestion of who to sign as a replacement.
Personally I'd stick rather than twist.

What on earth? It's not really the fans job to do that but frankly the list would be rather large.

This debate is getting very boring now.

He's scored 8 in over 50 apps since then. And his overaell performances and demeanour on the pitch have been unacceptable.

I'd suggest that's a more accurate reflection of his actual ability rather than a temporary hot spell, which as proven dozens upon dozens of times over the years can happen on occasion to average to poor players.

Wright received quite justifiable criticism for his abject performances in the play off games against Sunderland, and his piss poor run in to the end of the season.

He's now getting the plaudits for starting the season looking like he actually could give a fuck.

Im sure that has nothing whatsoever to do with there being a world cup place up for grabs next summer.

Why? Pluck a name out of a hat and you've got a good chance. Simms needs a spell in the SPL playing with the other shite to get his confidence up i think.

I think Simms would be ok in league 1
He has had just under two and a half seasons in the Championship and scored 26 league goals. In his one season in league 1 he got 8 in 21 games. He also scored 5 in 17 Scottish Premiership games.
A top half team in League 1 would be ideal for him I think.

We done it to death in other threads you clown. But even if we didn't, 'fans can't come up with a good suggestion' isn't a good excuse to keep a frankly inept footballer.

To be fair as it stands, he’s our third choice striker anyway. Can’t imagine now we are out the cup he’ll get much game time. Especially if we sign the danish LW/ST.

Maybe Stoke can have a look at him, they seem to need a striker and Robins did get 19 goals out of him

You can stick with failure and wonder why nothing is changing, or you can look to improve things and try to succeed.

Sticking is accepting failure. (Ludicrous idea)

Im no football scout, so ive no idea who is available or what our budget is, but maybe we've been looking at this guy ?

Exclusive: Leicester City & Coventry City eyeing up moves for £3m-rated Sturm Graz striker William Bøving

The Midlands rivals could be going head-to-head for the 22-year-old Danishman

So your suggestion is someone from footballleagueworld, excellent work.

If Ellis has a dreadful season I'll bow to your superior knowledge.

Suggesting replacements is like trying to pick a needle out of a haystack. Fans have no idea who’s available, willing to join, affordable etc.

My only fear with Boving is that he turns out to be another Bassette

He could go to your mob rangers and probably be a 25 goal season striker

He has far better pedigree, he's won a league title last season, played Champions league, has decent stats and is good on the eye if you watch a bit of him. Also outside of RB Salzburg players (who his team actually beat to the title) is rated as the most valuable player in the league.
You can't be scared of every foreign signing because Bassette.

After the last few games I think we’d benefit from a bit of a target man, doesn’t necessarily have to be a prolific goal scorer but if he could bring the likes of EMC, Rudoni, Saka, BTA into play and be an aerial threat from crosses he’d be useful as a back up to Wright and also trying to see out games.

Russell Martin really could secure his legacy by making a late move for Simms.
Cherry on the cake.

That rules out Nuneaton Borough then, which is a shame he'd do well in that League.

We have no option but to keep him as it’s fairly apparent we can’t shift him. Lampard and co have had a good long look and concluded he’s well down the pecking order.

The trouble is each time he does play and doesn't make an impact he denies an opportunity to the likes of Obikwu, for example, to develop. He might well benefit from 25 appearances this season, even if he only scores 4 or 5. I think that is a tough decision to be made if he doesn't go out.

On a long contract it’s going to be painful he’s just not developed and is actually now regressing

Surely you won’t be able to tell, as he’s not going to get much game time?

I don’t understand the big anti on Ellis Simms. If Wright gets injured again, he’d still be the best option as a back-up. He occupies defenders well, creates space for others and has done well when called upon recently. Posts saying he’s shit or we couldn’t give him away by bandwagoners on here are pointless.

He's done nothing for months, absolutely nothing.
I've backed him for most of his time here but my patience with him has ran out.
Given Lampard wouldn't bring him on in the play offs even though Wright was stinking the place out it seems agrees
