No I mean in total combined.. They won't play Alot together, might get the odd 20/30 mins here and there but Robins seems to like the 3421

Hmm what a nice selection headache - Donny quite a big physical side in many ways made more for Shipley & McCallum imo than O'Hare & Mason.
Shipley seems to link up well with Godden too!

I'd go with the following tbh - will be very interesting to see what MR does.

Marosi
Dabo
McCallum
Rose
Hyam
MacFadzean
Kelly
Walsh
Shipley
O'Hare
Godden

Subs: Wilson, Mason, Pask, Westbrooke Allen, Biamou, Baka

Donny's recent win run coincides with a slight dip in form of the sides they beat. (Peterboro', Oxford for example) and note the wins were marginal or very late goal. They were beaten by an inconsistent Sunderland at home. So not so sure they are as 'good' as some might think at this moment.
That said we look strong and the way the table is packing tightly at the top end a must not lose approach is needed here.
Portsmouth have been plugging away and they are getting better. They have 3 games coming up that should be 3 easy wins and we could find ourselves behind them in a couple of weeks if we fail to at least win and draw our next two.
But I think we concentrate on how good we are and I think we will have enough to win at Doncaster, a type of game you really must start to win at this stage of the season if promotion is your goal.
A defeat is not a disaster by any means, we are only just over half the season through.

Robins has the headache on team selection. I do beleive O'Hare and Allen are are stronger than Westbrooke and Shipley but have to say Shipley has proven positive in his slightly more forward role near Godden recently. For this reason I think he will put O'Hare on the bench, keep Allen in place of Westbrooke and Max on the bench. Dabo was rested and I expect will return. He might still go with Mason.

Win: 1-3

I agree that starting Shipley, O’Hare, Kelly and Walsh as part of our midfield to support Godden in attack is probably our most potent offense and one that could generate goals. We could bring Allen and Biamou in the second half if this formula doesn’t work. We should not play for a draw and should go for the win.

Looks like Darren Moore and McSheffrey were on a spying mission in midweek to check out our team. Hope we’ve done our homework on them as well. Would love to win this one as it would be a big statement. Time to start beating the teams in and around the top 10 to get some separation.

We need to win at Donny as the FA cup game we play would give the teams below a chance to overtake us

Nice to win, but would take a draw in this one, important not to lose. Donny have 1 game in hand over us and if they win it they’d be 1 point behind us, so the table is a bit misleading.

I’d play O’Hare and Allen but think it will more likely be O’Hare and Shipley/Westbrooke with O’Hare being subbed early on Tuesday.

Controversial, but would also play Max. Godden hasn’t had the best past 2 games and surely you put the in form striker in who’s chomping at the bit to take a starting place?

What I worry about with Max is if he keeps playing and scoring and then being benched he will start to become disillusioned. He's also bagged 8 in the u23s. He must be wondering what he needs to do to start a league game.

I don’t he’s got his head screwed on and knows what Godden gives to the team/squad. I think he trusts robins and has shown patience to wait his turn and earn his chances after being cold shouldered after the substitute appearance when he was criticised.

Agree max is good team player..his link up play isn't bad at all either....at Ipswich away he assisted first goal...Then scored 2nd.

Did the same at Peterboro away. Assisted first for Baka and he scored second. He put another couple on a plate for baka...

Not to mention even when he doesn't score....ie come on as sub vs Fleetwood..he changed the game 2nd half. Won the pen.

So frustrating he got that 3 game ban after that....Then another niggly injury..

Good problem to have...like Ohare max will have to bide his time. His contributions when called on this season are immense for someone with little or no experience at this level.

Godden has 6 league goals in his last 3 games. Does Biamou need to score 8 in his next 3 to stay in?

After some thought I’m leaning towards a 352 with O’Hare and Max in for Shipley and Westbrooke. Try and get ahead early then switch to 541 so see out the game.

Some folks on here didnt rate him on here as even league 2 standard. They know more than Robins it seems.

Be interesting to see in next couple of years ( if he stays fit) how many goals he scores at league 1 level ....it may not nescasarrily be with us. Glad to have him.

Anybody else notice how fit he looks! hes looking lean and mean!

We've got no chance based on the CET 'accurate' reporting of statistics!

After losing 1-0 to Tranmere Rovers at St Andrew's, City have picked up 18 points from 36 games, a spell that has embedded themselves into the play-off places

As we have the FA Cup game the following weekend, a draw minimum is essential on Saturday. 3 points would be great

Ideally we get something from it, but it isn't the end of the world (although it will be on here!) if we lost. Obviously I'd prefer a win or draw. Tough game, and if we do win, we'll all get carried away!!

Really tough selection choice this week. Those that came in for the cup game don't deserve to lose their place, but neither do those from the league game. Don't think the FA Cup tie will affect the mindset of the players.

Ultimately comes down to the opposition and what would be best against them.

Had we been at home against a team in poor form I'd have gone for Max and Godden up front with O'Hare behind. But away against a team in form I think I'd revert to the 2 attacking midfielders and Godden up front, with the option to change it around from the bench if necessary. Energy of Shipley and Westbrooke could be a big difference, although I wouldn't be averse to Allen starting in Westbrooke's place. Wingbacks to change back to the regulars but nice to have the others on the bench, esp Pask who could also be cover for CB and possibly also Kelly/Walsh.

Been a long time since we've had this kind of selection headache and it's very welcome, but ultimately I think it may come down to MR's approach if we take the lead and/or willingness to change/make subs if we don't. So I'll sit on the fence and go 1-1.

Marosi
Rose......Fadz......Hyam
Dabo..............Kelly.......Walsh........McCallum
Shipley.................Allen
Godden

Subs: Wilson, Pask, Mason, Westbrooke, O'Hare, Biamou, Hiwula

They’re one of the only sides in the league younger than us

The average age of the Doncaster starting 11 last game was 23

Ours was 24

But if Coppinger had started (instead of finished) our side would have been younger: 24 compared with their 24.5

But he didn’t? Ours would also be higher because Biamou came on for Shipley but I said starting 11

Not quite.

Per 90 mins in L1 from Whoscored:

Godden 1.5 shots on target - 9 goals
Biamou 1.3 shots on target - 2 goals

Including the cups this would look a different picture. However, Godden for me until 70 mins and either go 2 up top or just get Max on.

Yes and my point was if you factored into your stats the cup games would those shots to goals ratios be the same?
If you have factored in the cup games already be great to see where I can view those stats.
Both forwards on form is great for CCFC and long may that continue!

Would love us to keep the unbeaten run going but think we will come unstuck here, Doncaster on a good run at the moment.

Play to our strengths and we win, anything less we could end up being beat it’s all down to how we are on the day as it is most weeks this season after seeing everyone else.
