The ECHR was set up in large part in response to the atrocities that took place in Poland and elsewhere in eastern Europe, and the Refugee Convention was also created in the wake of millions becoming displaced as a result of that.

The man I'm sure most on here would agree is the greatest PM in the country's history played a leading role in both. He was right.

Fair play to you mate, I had to go to Polish school at the weekends when I was a kid. I forgot most of it as my grandparents always wanted to talk to us in English so never used it outside the class room. I understand more than I speak but I'm working on putting that right.
