Polls people sign up for so already have an interest (either way).

Well done Nick, you’ve conquered the field of psephology on your first day. What’s next?

This has never been true. It wasn’t true of shy Tories either. Anecdotally I’ve never known a reform voter not make it very clear. Second only to vegans in that respect.

They have a full cross section of society. That’s literally how polling works. You recruit a representative sample of the population you are studying. They go out via different means (YouGov) including putting ads in papers and have specific groups of people in specific demographics then where they can’t find enough weight them higher to compensate.

Have a read: Q&A: How do opinion polls work? - BBC News
But how do you know? I'm not trying to be argumentative, I've never even seen an advert so what papers is it in? Who from the streets of Wood End (no offence to residents on here, just an example) do you think is reading it and registering?

I could easily be persuaded to vote Reform if I believed in the leaders or that they weren't a one policy party. As I said nobody I know gets involved. I've played football, pool, got mates from all walks from footie trips or social groups, worked with hundreds of different people too. Most of them despite a 1500 page thread from a few like minded on here couldn't actually give a flying fek about politics. It's almost never discussed and I'd be amazed if many of them could name more than a couple of members of the cabinet. It's why Brexit was a surprise to lots and also the last huge major Conservative landslide. This recent Labour win was predicted because the Tories were so hated, but even then a lot of seats were won without a huge number of voters or turnout.

76% of people think MP's are overpaid. FFS!!!

Let’s be honest a lot of the country quite frankly havent got a clue….and that’s being kind. ‘Company directors’ is a strange banding but a lot of company directors are owner managers of SME businesses, which are the lifeblood of this country, employing vast amounts of people. I’ve known many directors of SMEs over the years that have forgone their own salaries if their business was struggling for cash. Basically keeping their businesses alive, paying employees salaries to their own personal detriment

Same for me. I've never talked about politics down the pub. It's just not one of those things that happens. I couldn't tell you if or who they vote for.

But if an opt in poll of a tiny percent of the population says so though....

Yeah, I usually avoid politics entirely, unless they're close friends.

People need to stop interacting with him, if nobody replies he’ll eventually go outside and get a taste of fresh air. Can’t think the super model is happy with you constantly being on here is she? @shmmeee

How much do people think male footballers should be paid, when the sport is more wildly popular than ever? Are ticket prices and rights deals also going to fall?
They should be paid according to supply and demand just like every other entertainment industry.

Edit: presumably as with actors, it was only put in the list to be provocative knowing the result before it was even polled. Can you imagine if nurses and cares weren't at the bottom of that too? It's just an emotional list that almost 100% of the people on here could have guessed at the order without the need for it ... if it ever actually happened of course.

I almost never talk about politics in a social situation. It's not the right setting. We're there to enjoy ourselves and talking about how shit everything is isn't conducive to that. Doesn't mean I don't care about politics. Or that they don't either. We don't talk about our earnings either, doesn't mean we don't care about how much we get paid.

MPs too….supposedly the root of all this country’s ills (apart from immigrants ofc). But we also want to pay them less?

Well yeah, supply is extremely limited and demand is through the roof. If 30,000 people are paying £30 to watch second division football every other week, who else should get the money….Doug?

I’d rather the money that the industry generates went to the workers than pretty much anyone else in so, yeah. But equally there’s a good shout that the clubs can’t afford it as is.

'Male' footballers :D :D
So footballers then

35% of people think women footballers are underpaid. Where do they want the money to pay them to come from? Like care workers and teachers fair enough we decide that. Are we going to state subsidise the WPL?

I'm going to go out into the real world and do social activities while you probably obsess over a poll or fill them out.

Haha you’re the one saying you’d run a mile if the phone rang and an old lady asked who you were voting for.

Anyway what's happened to the energy tax, shouldn't it be going down as it's effect on other prices has almost returned to pre war level's, don't these temporary shocks go down as well as up?
