The issue is Pete believes people can be cured.
Child abusers like all people who are addicted to unnatural urges are manipulative and want to find a way to carry on with their desires. There will be zero accountability. Even if you can get 10% not to relapse 90% will and all it does is make these people better at covering the way they operate

You will still be end up with 9 out of 10 abusers eager and ready again to abuse again which is why they must remain incarcerated for ever or put down

I prefer rehabilitated rather than cured and actually with attraction and addiction I completely accept that the urges won’t go away
I am far more interested in people understanding that, owning what they’ve done, understanding why they did it, the impact on the victims and them to work out what they can do to not reoffend
I believe that’s possible for many people involved in addictive behaviour.

Way over 99% of those convicted will be released so why not do something to make their chance of offending less

I've said I've got a mate who was arrested for a scrap outside a night club years ago and it's not comparable to somebody who harms kids, who I know would have backs turned on them, if not a slap.
