That would of been stupid, it's not like Bedford are an MK Dons or something, plenty of history with both them and CovCRFC tried this before, when they attempted to merge with Bedford who were a Premiership club at the time. Not sure if it didn't happen because of rugby's regulations, or because of other factors between the 2 clubs involved though.
