CWR while not being all that is a lot better than opposition stations.

I had to resort to Sheffield United commentary during our win there and they praise everything their team does and talk about how awful the away team was.

Example being a couple of 50/50s, when they clattered one of our players the commentary was "[insert Sheff Utd player] was a bit cheeky there left a bit in" and when we fouled them it was "Disgraceful by Coventry there, the ref needs to get ahold of this"

Local radio is always going to look a bit amateurish compared to the glitzy Sky Spots stuff people are accustomed to now but I think ours isn't too bad.

I'd definitely rather listen to CWR coverage of the game than some of the commentary that Sky puts on.
Some of it is so painful to listen to. Especially the main two who seem to get a lot of big Championship games.

I would expect it has been very tough for him coming from a promotion team into a leaky defence I and would expect Woolfenden thought there would be more game time.
Unfortunately for him the form up front was fantastic the first half of the season but the defence was still the weak link.
I thought he spoke well and this has been badly taken out of context.
Same for KKH who was brought in to rest MVE hasn’t seen much game time either.

CWR used to be class back in the day. They used to let the right charcters on the phone in.

They wont let them on now its gone all woke, like this forum.

Ones its woke there is no fun in anything.

I used to phone in when Clive Eakin and Adam Dent did the phone in, not anymore.

I upset them both once, when I said to Clive, what shirt you wearing tonight your Tranmere shirt and Adam what shirt are you wearing tonight your Wolves shirt, to both of them at the same time.

That was fun that Friday night. 😁

Clive and Oggy were a brilliant team and I think Oggy offers some decent insight (along with the odd error obviously). Rob clearly doesn't want to say 'bender' on the BBC so I have no reason why he keeps saying the fans are singing the Onyeka song rather than just letting it play out in the background!

Same thing reading out texts that are daft - get someone screening them so he's not in that position.

Generally the coverage is a lot better than most from what I've heard but inferior to some as you'd expect.

Clive was so measured and delivered some iconic lines with Vik's goal being the best for me. Hopefully Rob can find the right words to deliver some memorable lines of his own as this season promises so much.

Yep particularly enjoyed him saying it was ok to pull off the ball boys at half time

Gurney is scared to say the word ‘bender’ even though every city fan sings it, it’s embarrassing as are the whole team bar oggy. Bring back Clive and send gurney back to West Brom

In totally different news but someone mentioned the Sky pundits. Who do you reckon they'll get on to cover our games (if we make the prem) as they seem to like to have one link to the club.

Can't think of anyone who could do it who they have in their studio regularly

I'm sure I've seen Clinton Morrison do it. There's also Tim Sherwood I think :)
That makes sense. I suppose Morrison has done championship games and Sherwood was all over TV around his sacking at Spurs so no doubt they will dust him off then.

I was thinking Robbie Keane if he isn't managing anywhere in future or potentially Henderson (I know it was just a loan spell) when he retires

They shouldn't have chosen that quote but it's not a big deal

Woolf is more than entitled to have his say. It's not a big deal

Don't turn on oggy because of cwr social media team FFS

Only traitors use other teams commentary unless our one is down!

I can't listen to the match coverage on CWR anymore. It's dumbed down, lowest common denominator shite probably manufactured for the 15,000 happy clappers who supported Liverpool before 2023. Alos, Bailey and Gurney are irritating beyond belief. Who on earth thought it was a good idea to get rid of Clive and replace him with these 2 clowns?
Its definitely gone massively down hill.
To be honest it just sounds so immature and unprofessional now. Only Oggy is worth listening to, and half the time he doesn't remember who we are playing 😅

Is this the thread to complain wildly about the BBC while failing to be able to name anything better?

If we’re going full Facebook comments section maybe we can fit something about cycle lanes in too?

This is a storm in a teacup for sure. If we're talking CWR and what they could improve - it's a positive Lorna moving off of matchday coverage.

Rob to me is a tough listen, particularly when we're not doing well - his own negativity is not enjoyable to listen to. I think Oggy is a pretty decent summariser and to me reads the game well - I wouldn't describe him as biased, but of course they spend far more time talking about Coventry than the opponent - which is to be expected. He makes a lot of silly mistakes - getting players names wrong, mixing up the team we're playing etc but he is pretty knowledgeable on the whole.

I miss Clive so much and wish he hadn't moved on or been moved on.
